For a pair that is accused of being checked-out and disinterested, I don't think I've ever seen T/M as checked-out and disinterested as they were today. Trankov dancing around backstage was more into it than they were  I still haven't changed my opinion that they continued just to keep Vladimir away from the draft.

I don't think there was a clean skate by any team.
Final
Boikova/Kozlovski wins (she two-footed a throw)
Mish/Gal (she doubled the 3S)
Tar/Mor (too many mistakes to count) IMHO, Kad/Kol should have got the bronze.
Kadyrova/Kolesov and they had a lift bobble (I really like them though)

Errors in jumps, errors in lifts, errors in spins and really weirdly several errors in the BIDS. Some of the skaters looked like death warmed over. I suspect they're all just glad this is over.

I suspect you're right.

Glad to see real pairs teams! I’d much rather watch some real and genuine pairs teams make mistakes than teams that don’t even seem like they are trying to match, be in sync!

B/K were great! I don’t even remember a big error unlike T/M in which every jump was a problem but still somehow looked spectacular as a real pair team.

It’s true one double jump was probably why m/g lost but the red suit is great. Big Red!

I've never seen Mishina so upset, she sobbed as soon as she saw the placements and kept her face covered with her hands the whole time the camera was on her.

1. Boikova/Kozlovski 234.39
2. Mishina/Gallyamov 233.88
3. Tarasova/Morozov 218.60
4. Kadyrova/Kolesov 213.45
5. Chikmaryova/Yanchenkov 211.44

Kadyrova/Kolesov deserved bronze!
I hope we don’t see such shenanigans for Women…

Bravo, Boikova/Kozlovski… ELVIS was beaten?

Actually, the issue was the whole combo. Mishina didn't do the Euler and then doubled the salchow, so they didn't get credit for the combo. It was hard to tell about the Euler, because sometimes her's looks like a stumble, but after seeing the protocols and rewatching, it was obvious. That's why she was so upset. Boi/Koz weren't perfect. Their 3S was called with a < and she 2-footed the second throw, but Mishina's error was more costly.I

I would like pairs to be judged like dance now where each skater gets a score instead of the team losing so many points if one skater makes a mistake on a side-by-side element. But. skating in sync is an important part of pair skating so I can understand if the ISU keeps the scoring as is.

She's a lovely skater who has grown a lot. She's struggled all season. Hopefully next year is better for her. She's not happy. I'm still not sure the move to Sokolovskya was the best, but what do I know? But she's gettin a hug from her so there's that.

YAMETOVA!!! Real artiste. Lovely Cirque du Soleil program in holiday dress - red & green combination! 🎄

Zinina was ok - like Repond of Switzerland…turn her on snd she zips about like a machine, with minimal artistry. But she has a lively, happy face in Kiss n Cry.

Zinina 1st, Yametova 2nd before last group.

She is a little spitfire. Hopefully, she'll develop the harder elements because she's got personality in spades. The crowd loves her.

Final group SP scores
Ksenia Sinitsina 74.89
Adelia Petrosyan 76.25
Kamila Valieva 76.61
Sofia Muravieva 79.96
Liza Tuktamysheva 82.95
Sofia Akateva 83.59

I don't think we'll end with a tie like the men, but who knows.

Random comments: I love Liza's costume. She and Ksenia are the two oldest competitors and this is Tuk's 15th national. Muravieva was not considered a prospect as a novice and none of the top tier coaches was interested. This is how she ended up with Plushenko. Just goes to show that hard work pays off.

she's an exquisite skater, but not having the big elements hurts and the 2F will hurt more in this field. I wish she'd been as lucky as Gubanova in getting an offer from another country.

I love her, but her speed and spins just aren't equivilant to the others. They just aren't. But, I think she still has a medal chance which will be just sweet.

Who cares what the score is. She'll medal. :cheer2:

You're not wrong. Samarin looks like he can barely believe it though.

Zhenya is gonna win with his dumb hair, isn't he?
Not a chance internationally. Skating element to element. No choreo. A few elements very good. But others barely done. StSq level 2?
