2021 US Nationals Junior Pairs

Nice 2tw to start. SBS 2As, not so much. And she popped her throw.

I think for many of these teams the double throw is intentional

Smirnov has grown up a lot in a year and it looks like she's working through her jump technique as a consequence.

except it was Cooke and not Smirnova who is still tiny. I really liked them last season and think they have a real future as seniors if they get more ice time and competitions. JGP hopefully.

Ok after watching the Junior pairs, I thought all 4 of the last warm up group showed some promise. I was more impressed with the boys than the girls. I am concerned about lack of jumps with the girls....the 6th team to skate were clearly the best of the event but that double axel isn’t even close. I also thought Champman was quite the capable skater! The last team was good as well and her double axel looked closer (but that twist needs some work). Hopefully the jumps will come for these pairs!

This last name comes from Old Slavic surname "Сияница" (and should be actually transferred into Latin letters like this: Siiyanitza). The name is not very common, but can seen in Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia.

Well......... Smirnova/Siiyanitsa and Martins/Bedard were good and fun to watch. The rest i will not comment on, because it has to do with women's size vs. men's size.
