OH. MY. GOD.

DM ME and we can discuss every last DETAIL!!!!

Did you know that there is a Santa Barbara cruise... where you can meet Robin and the actors who played Cruz (A), Sophia, Ted, Julia, etc!! Yup, it exists!!!

Only Robin Wright doesnt do it (of course) and Marcy is completely removed from acting so she hasnt done it....
I have done it. I went on it for a long weekend a couple of months before the world came to an end and I had a fabulous time.

It was Cruz and Mason and Lionel and Sophia and Mary and whatshername, the missing daughter that kidnapped Mason and caused lots of problems. She was a last minute replacement but I no longer remember for who. There was also a costume designer. It was one of the best times of my life and I have the autographed pictures to prove it!

Glenn doesn’t flutz, right? The fact that Harding’s skating double had a severe Bobek-like flutz was the most egregious mischaracterization of Tonya Harding I’ve ever seen. Harding circa 1994 had the most gorgeous triple lutz I’ve ever seen. So insulting!
Daily Gratitude Journal, January 13, 2021.

Dear Journal,

Once again, I am grateful that I never eat or drink while reading posts on FSU.

Yours,

Vagabond.

OT but another detail that movie got wrong was Munger’s skates, which IIRC correctly were Edea’s. Which of course didn’t exist in the 90’s.
Another point in Amber's favor. She wears Jacksons.

This is amazing. I am very jealous.

Do you not sit at home? Do you have any information to the contrary? I didn't see Tom at the ladies' practice today. Would you suspect maybe Tom is positive and stays at home in Colorado quarantining? Is it possible he passed it to Paige or vice versa? If he or his skaters were asymptomatic carriers, could they have spent 15 min a day with each other in those couple days when they all fought for music turns at the rink before leaving for Nationals? If so, there is a potential need to quarantine and withdraw his skaters to ensure the integrity of the bubble and the safety of other nationals participants. A brainless probably would not be able to ask these questions.

No a brainless person would assume that all this information is really public information and you should know it. No. You are not entitled to know if Tom is quarantining, you are not entitled to know if he’s potentially exposed. Paige Voluntarily shared information. That’s the only information you are entitled to have. And your extrapolation into who now has Covid is quite interesting. But let me point out one big flaw with your soap opera. If Tom is as you believe locked up in Colorado because he was the person that everybody in World Center was exposed to why would Paige even get on a plane? I doubt she would’ve thought of this as a surprise if her coach had Covid and she got it. Oops little bubble in your fantasy. LOL

US figure skating does not have to give you this information you want. People have a right to privacy. Your soap opera drama desire doesn’t override that

Munger doesn't flutz. :) There was another skating double for Margot Robbie, IIRC.

Anna Malkova

I’m not familiar with Malkova, but I’m guessing you might be? Looks like she skated at the junior and senior level but never quite made it out of Pacific Coast Sectionals and then tried to skate for France briefly.

I remember her :) The fields at Coasts were crazy deep and competitive in her time.

I could care less if Tom informs the public of his covid status. But if you don’t see the potential connection of his skater’s positive test and Tom’s absence from Nationals, and you don’t care the potential risk of their close contacts attending nationals may pose to others in the bubble, it’s an indication of brainless/soulless to me.

I didn’t find anything about moving to another hotel part. “if [skater tests positive in Las Vegas and] you flew, you are moved to another hotel (already predetermined and quarantined for 10 days before going home). It was not in the on arrival testing either.
You're right. In the TeamUSA.org article I posted, Dunlop was quoted "... as opposed to coming to Vegas, testing positive and then having to (quarantine) in Vegas for 10 days" and it was the length of mandatory quarantine in Las Vegas after testing positive there that he confirmed. I was told privately that another hotel would be used for quarantine purposes.

All arrivals into the bubble are supposed to take a second test within 72 hours of first test.

Dec. 26th press release:
Guaranteed Rate's "Believe You Will" campaign showcases inspirational stories of incredible athletes and adventurers who believed they could overcome challenges to accomplish their ultimate goals.
“At Guaranteed Rate, we’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with U.S. Figure Skating. These incredible athletes are so focused on continually raising the bar, and we identify with that motivation,” said Guaranteed Rate Chief Marketing Officer Steve Moffat.
In addition to its partnership with U.S. Figure Skating, Guaranteed Rate also announced an ambassador agreement with American skater Starr Andrews. Andrews, who finished sixth at the U.S. Championships in 2018 and 2020, and was the 2017 U.S. junior silver medalist, has earned Grand Prix Assignments in each of the last three seasons.
Starr was included (briefly, at 30-second mark of the video below) with others in Guaranteed Rate's "Believe You Will" commercial shown on NBCSN after the Pairs SP just now!

Has anyone solved the mystery of why Mariah is still wearing the same dress for both programs? I get that there's a pandemic going on but everyone else seems to have figured out how to get costumes. Some gorgeous ones too, not gonna talk about Starr's tights tho...

If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.

Maybe she forgot her second dress or had a problem with it?

We GET it. You are obsessively wringing your hands over an event you have no control over and that has nothing to do with you. The event is happening; if you don't like it, don't watch, but stop complaining about it!

She's not, according to Jackie Wong. She has a new dress for the FS.

How about you not ordering people around about what they can or can't talk about on a discussion board.

Well it sounds like you just did what you don't want others to do? How about you following your own advice LOL!

I've just added a lot of drama queens to my ignore list. They don't post much useful so it's not a great loss

The relevant excerpt in the TeamUSA.org article linked above (Ladies SP & Pairs SP recap):
Zakrajsek is home in Colorado Springs, recovering from what he called a “very mild case” of the virus. One of his other students, Paige Rydberg, tested positive for the virus and withdrew from the event.

“I tested positive on Jan. 4,” he relayed via text message. “My symptoms of a runny nose and cough began on Jan. 2.”

I'll be honest, this raises a lot of questions for me, however I also realize that what's done is done at this point. I will just say I'm proud of C/P and the pairs teams that made a very difficult but wise choice to stay home.

However, you don’t know that Tom was the reason they chose to stay home. Considering he’s been isolating since January 4 (Or possibly even the 2nd) I have a feeling they came into contact with someone else after that, otherwise they would’ve announced it before they did.

The real truth is the big risk is the first week. post exposure. 14 days is an outlier. This is why some states have gone to seven days as long as you have a negative test for your quarantine rules

The healthcare organization I’m affiliated with with recommends testing five days after exposure. Generally you may not have any symptoms at that point but if you have Covid it’s going to show. So let’s say everyone in Colorado found out on January 4 that Tom had Covid, if they tested on January 9 and possibly even again before they came there really is no risk. This is why I think Paige and the pair skaters contact point was not Tom. I also think that because she was surprised. She probably had been tested after she got around Tom that came out clear and she thought she was in good shape. She may not have a clue who she came in contact with at this point.

I feel sorry for him that he has had to make his health information public to satisfy the need of obsessively curious skating fans. And I have a feeling right now Paige probably wishes she hadn’t told the public the either. She could’ve just withdrawn for some unknown reason

The truth is none of us are in contact with anyone there, it’s none of our business.

I mean Tom had nothing to do with C/P staying home since they train in Michigan?

I don’t disagree but also to be fair (and I’m no Tom Z fan) C/P said they were exposed the 4th, which is most likely later than CS skaters. Again, I’m not saying this doesn’t raise questions, I’m just saying we don’t have all the info and the dates aren’t the same. Hopefully everyone stays safe and healthy!

Which is precisely why I'm not going to say anyone did anything wrong or should have stayed home. I don't have all the info. I just have questions. Haha.

C/P were exposed to Kolesnik who tested positive last week (he probably should have quarantined after coming back from international travel). Sad for C/P but they did the responsible thing
