Woah a program using Mum - is this Icelandic band from the 2000s Mum? I hope so...just skip the Rota and use something else. Their AB structure programs are just tiresome. AB is hard to pull off well - K&P's 92 FD is a great example of one working. But...come on, at least a different musical structure might be nice. If this were any other team I wouldnt be prejudging this hard, but they do this year after year and never any better.

While I’m not a huge fan of Caruso, I think it might be a better choice that the Nutcracker for Kolyada, at least in terms of that piece Kolyada was using which I think is better suited to a long program. I was wishing for some Chopin for Kolyada but oh well.

Apparently, Dani G (or the skaters, collectively?) didn’t spread the net too far for their musical choices. Of the six top senior Sambo70 women:

- two are skating SPs to Richter music (Valieva “In Memoriam” & Scherbakova with “Songs of Distant Earth”)

and

- two are skating SPs to pop-blues songs by Beth Hart (Kostornaia to “Am I the one?” and Khromikh to “I’ll Take Care of You”...repeated from last season).

Interesting, yes? No Eilish!

Trusova (Frida s/t) and Usacheva (Greatest Showman s/t...though a lesser-used number “Never Enough”) are a bit more unique.

Let’s enjoy watching all of the programs (and the rest) tomorrow! ? ? ?

1. Favourites from RD, cannot believe what I am saying, D/S.

2. Kiril A. is a lovely dancer.
3. I don't understand Z/G.
4. Could S/K be more bland? Sinitsina is more convincing than Katsalapov. He looks like a deer in headlights. I see neither blues or hip hop. I preferred their previous programme with choreo from Zueva. But hey maybe it's too early.

Why would Dani G. throw A. Kostornaia under the bus before she even skates? Talk about sabotaging your own student. He has so many students.....so many will do well...does he need to be like this? AoP, better give this team some competition because I fear he's lost the script.

That she was a headcase. She has everything within her to do the high risk jumps but essentially her personality prevents her.

It's just so....if you can't inspire a skater don't take to the press to disparage. He could have simply spoken to the positives and remained silent about the rest. But he just doesn't have it in him.

Have to say, Tarasova/Morozov have three programs this season that I adore. And I think I do like this SP better! Wonderful nuances and really specific attention to musical phrasing.
