2020 NFL Thread

Reports are that Gronk wants to go play with the Bucs with Tom Brady. But the Patriots would have to trade him for that to happen. Will we see a deal made for the Draft? ?
The deal has happened:

4th round draft pick

The 2020 NFL Draft starts in one minute! :cheer2:

It’ll be interesting to see what Round 1 looks like virtually from the ESPN Headquarters instead of the hoopla that was probably supposed to happen in Las Vegas.

Also, the Miami Dolphins will have the most (14!) selections and the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs will have the least (5).

A streak of one?

It was rumored that a record number was supposed to be picked in the first round.

Anyone else have any thoughts about Roger Goddell announcing from his basement? I first thought that he looked lame but it’s kinda growing neutral on me.

Jerry Jones on the Cowboys’ situation mega couch......?

I thought he "retired" from football? Why would the Patriots have to trade him if he "retired" but then decides he wants to play again? He essentially quit, didn't he? I don't really follow football other than sometimes watching games so don't know the rules. :shuffle:

No, he never retired officially. More like a sabbatical. He still had a year left on his contract. Kraft was happy to give up the cap space.

I never watch the draft but I'm so desperate for something sporting and live that I turned it on. I rather enjoyed it. My Chiefs took a player from LSU---it looked like a good night for LSU and the SEC and Ohio State.

Why didn’t the Saints get a LB? Queen (LSU - I think he ended up getting picked by the Ravens) was still on the board! And the Saints need to work on their defense - especially with Bridgewater at Carolina and Brady/Gronk at Tampa Bay!

Now, the Saints’ next pick isn’t until the 3rd Round.......?

And BTW, it’s obvious that Ruiz was the best center in the NFL Draft but the Saints’ offensive line is already great right now.

Giants needed OL help, badly. They chose the smallest one at #4. They could have traded down and got him later.

The Chiefs return 20 of 22 starters. I like their draft choices but this was never going to be a huge rebuilding year. I am very impressed with some of the choices of teams in the AFC West who went for speed in their receivers and defensive backs (countering Mahomes.) It should be a competitive year if they are able to play.

Dr. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (offensive lineman for the Chiefs) is now on the cover of Sports Illustrated for because he is one of the folks in Canada helping with the Beer Burden outbreak. He is still in the NFL but is back home helping in Quebec.

If the players are willing then go for it. I do worry more about the older people involved like the coaches. And then you never know about each individual player: Denver Bronco Von Miller was quite sick with Covid though he was not hospitalized. I think of Andy Reid catching it. And now they are selling masks in KC that said that say to "keep Patrick Mahomes safe." :p
I saw this hype video....I am excited for a season that may not happen this year: https://youtu.be/mKKOw5mf1ls

Yeah I want to see Mahomes play this year, but I'd say there's a 25% chance that it will happen.

WTF is going on in SF? The Niners still haven't signed Kittle to a new deal when in the last season of his rookie contract! In the meantime, they're signing another TE out of Washington, Jordan Reed! I'm a KC fan with Mahomes so I couldn't GAF, but I think it strange as Kittle seems to be very important to their offense! :wall:
