Thanks for the source link (in post #480) that Sergei Voronov had a program choreographed by Denis Ten and that it might be performed in The ICE!

A big thank you to @cgirl & @Dobre for helping to identify program music at the Lake Placid dance competition thread and to @DobrinFan and others in the Minto Summer Skate thread in the Kiss & Cry section. :)

Sergei Voronov
LP Kaleo - Way down we go
Choreographed by Denis Ten

After the performance, according to the interview of the Mainichi Shimbun, Voronov said, "I'd like to slide through the program he choreographed as my future responsibility, obligation, to convey his thoughts and feelings is my destiny "I said.

The performance is a song "Way Down We're Go" tied up with the main character 'Logan' by a character of American comic. The hero has an image of immortality, and Ten proposed that it is suitable for Voronov who is active and still keeps skating even now when he turned 30.

The choreography was held at the end of May, and Voronov said, "I never thought deeply, but when I think about it now, it was destiny, not from God but it is a given mission." In the free demonstration, Voronov cares for Mr. Ten. In the choreography of the places we have synchronized the movements Mr. Ten showed on the ice, the last looked up to the sky, and showed a praying look.

Yikes. I like the Parsons', but with P/C skating a masterpiece to this music so recently and even using it for a very recent exhib version, this choice isn't the wisest for an emerging team that wants/needs to make their mark early in this new quad (especially domestically, being currently caught in a crowd of upcoming young American teams), IMO.

The Parsons need to move on to a different coaching situation. Why were they allowed to have two derivative FDs in a row? I feel team Wheaton keeps their biggest weakness on continual display: packaging.

I agree. Watching them as Seniors last year I thought there was so much room to grow. More than I thought would be. And I was surprised being that they were Junior World Champs. I think McNamara/Carpenter will overtake them.

I hope Michael becomes a character. Too much smiling. Anyway I do hope thy will progress!!!

Junior Men

Jonathan Hess (GER)

Also Nikita Mikhailov choreographed Young-Hyun Cha's SP and LP. I didn't see it listed in the google doc. And according to Nikita's VK his SP is "Expressing Yourself"-Billy Elliot the Musical (the 3rd part of the SP is anyway). The first part is Mr. Moustafa-Grand Budapest Hotel and the 2nd part is Solidarity-Billy Elliot.

McNamara & Carpenter defeated the Parsons in 2 of 3 head-to-heads last season so "overtake" is perhaps not the right terminology here. M&C were also selected by the Olympic Selection Committee as 2nd alternates and the Parsons were selected as 3rd alternates based on their respective seasons.

Yeah but M&C definitely had been looking weaker in recent year or two too despite them defeating P&P twice last year.

If you ask me they could both steer away from bland-ville. One junior to senior team who weren't as bland as them were H&B in their first senior year. I believe they even captured a senior GP medal in first year as well.

The Olympic Selection Committee didn't think so.

These teams have been splitting placements for at least 5 years. McNamara & Carpenter have lead most of the way. These teams have been ranked practically back to back in the World Standings for at least the past two seasons after finishing 1-2 at Junior Worlds the year before. They are currently a whopping 20 points apart on the world standing list when comparing their results over the last 2-year period. 20 points is essentially nothing. I'm not sure if there are two other teams on the entire list within 20 WS points of each other.

My mood stablizers are waring off so I cant engage in a full out Housewives debate/argument tonight... try me tomorrow tho.

M&C were dominating in juniors then they struggled, then cut to Parsons Jr world Champs, then cut to their debuts at seniors and IMO both were rather forgettable.

H&B debuted in seniors 4 years ago in comparison to them and I can still remember their programs that year.

My simple point is that I think M&C will overtake The Parsons this season and after their results last year and year before its not like IMO one was shining more than the other. Like at all. As you said alternate number 2 and alternate number 3....apples to apples.

Oly Comittee also chose Karen over Ashley so that point is completely moot for me.

Oh dear I am not sure about this. You hear this A LOT at local comps. Hopefully Miriah will have a fresh take on it.

The music is ~20 years ago Cohen/Nikodinov. I like the song and I was a big fan of the ‘live’ version they played on MTV constantly when I was a kid, but unfortunately, I don’t see it being a great choice now other than in a cheesy exhibition.

I didn't dislike their FD last season - it had nice choreo, partially derivative of the legendary Torvill/Dean/Duchesnays programs which was okay if one thought about it as a tribute, with some new moves thrown in - but I still agree. The good thing is that, so far, team Wheaton have managed to give them programs that have been okay for them as a sister-brother team. Also, I thought Parsons FD in their last season as juniors was quite good.

McNamara/Carpenter, on the other hand, have had some good SDs, although not so much last season, and some not so good, or at least not great, FDs. Their FD in their last junior season was particularly unfortunate.

Where could they go, though?Shpilband/ Camerlengo? Zoueva? Perhaps the latter could be okay, but Zoueva is not in such a great situation now when Scali is gone. I doubt any of the two teams would leave USA, even if there were coaches beside Dubreul/Lauzon and Haguenauer to whom they could go (well, there is Carol Lane, but it seems like she is not willing to take any teams of potentially high caliber as long as Gilles/Poirier are competing).

Sorry for the huge off-topic.

Please delete the part of Mariah as the source is unclear.

Several people who went to GALA were tweeting.
For example, this.

Since several people use the word "Gabriella's new SP", it may have been announced at the venue. That program has a very good reputation. I think we need a little more time until details become clear.

Please listen as a rumor.

As a big fan of the Parsons, I heartily disagree that they need to move to another coach. Yes, last year's FD was a disappointment, but they tried something and hopefully learned from it. I was one of the few lucky enough to see their season's debut at Lake Placid. The free program is very much in their wheelhouse with difficult choreography. Michael's stretch and arabesque position is gorgeous! It is a shame "Build a Home" was used by the current world champions just two years ago, however, there are no deductions for selecting previously used music. My guess is the Parsons themselves had a say in the selection. This is not an Olympic year, it is a developing year. The Wheaton coaching team has only one year in the senior ranks and they are learning fast.

Sibling teams have proven to be a challenge for any coach. People complained Marina didn't know what to do with the Shibs. Now that the Shibs have broken through to the Olympic podium, other sibling teams will try to follow. The Parsons will figure out who they are. Wait and see!

I’m kind of looking forward to this; it might give Mariah a push to relax and project.

I only saw a snippet only of their program I did not place it as build a home although I did know and like the music. I found them very strong and powerful rather than dreamy and lyrical. I think they will do a great job as their own version.

I'm admittedly an unabashed Celine fan, but I could see To Love You More really work for Mariah. Give us some drama, girl! It's certainly better than her recent music selections.

The music is ~20 years ago Cohen/Nikodinov.

You say this like it's a bad thing. :p
