Totally agreeJohannes Vetter!![]()
Was it my imagination or did the BBC just review the 4x100 to see if there was a way to get the U.S. disqualified?![]()
I'm going to need that photo with all decathletes shirtless. For scientific reasons.![]()
Question for the Americans: The flags during the medal ceremony are being held on poles by members of the armed forces and as the anthem plays they allow the pole to go forward so the flag unfurls. I was just watching the 4x100m men's medal ceremony - cause we won it- and realised that the US flag is always held upright. The UK and Japanese ones were allowed to open up but the US one remains upright so never unfurls and thinking back that has happened throughout - why is that? Hopefully I have explained that right.
Easiest way to explain it: Because "dipping the flag" is considered to be a sign of subservice and is viewed as disrespectful. Link to U.S. Flag Code.
Semenya was just phenomenal. When will she break the world record?
