2016 Academy Awards (Oscars) - Ceremony & Red Carpet

From someone who was underwhelmed by Mad Max I will give it this: It paid respect to the original films but had it's own look and there were things I'd never seen on film before mainly in the long, long chase scenes. I suspect it was so difficult to film. And I never stopped watching.

I didn't like Jennifer Garner's dress on the red carpet but thought it looked gorgeous on stage under the lights.

Months ago I called Alicia Vikander enchanting and I still think she is enchanting after the long awards season. What a future she has....

Im sure 50 shades was a terrible movie ( I didn't see it) but the soundtrack was fab :shuffle:

Yes, I want to see the movie that fits both that song and Elli Goulding's. I normally don't like Goulding, but that's a damn sexy song.

The only issue I have with Chris Rock's commentary is that the initial controversy, which I believe the NAACP did make a point of saying, was not that it was not just African Americans, but no Asians, Hispanics, or anyone of any other race than white in the acting categories. I'm glad the one interviewee did make that comment.

I loved that bit and it was nice and short. Plus, my best friend's daughter is selling GSC right now and that's pretty much how it is.

Classy bondage? I kind of like the staging. A lot better than Sam Smith.

Sure, it's just stop cutting into speeches unless a person is really going on and on. They only give them a set amount of time, when some are short and sweet, and others have more to say.

Please let it be Mark Ruffalo!!!

NO! Come on! I heard "Mark" and thought it was Mark Ruffalo! Mark Ruffalo has done such good work and never won. He was also so good in playing another real person last year (the wrestler who was killed).

Rylance is a good actor, but it is sooo overdue for Mark Ruffalo. He was someone I was really pulling for tonight. :(

Wow! Go Mark Rylance!

Also, what a lovely speech!

Mark Ruffalo's oscar clip was such an oscar clip. Bleh. So glad he didn't win. He was the worst part of Spotlight IMO.

Well, after the favourites won all of the early awards, this is becoming a somewhat unpredictable year
