ETA: https://www.instagram.com/p/DULSKg0iq5w/Let the games begin. A striking ice installation by five World Ice Art Champions honors American athletic excellence and the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Carved from 10 metric tons of ice, the 12-foot-tall installations at Rockefeller Center and Top of the Rock feature four Team USA athletes, figure skater Madison Chock, snowboarder Red Gerard, para snowboarder Brenna Huckaby, and speed skater Erin Jackson, celebrating #MilanoCortina2026. Discover the exhibition at the Channel Gardens in Rockefeller Center in New York City January 30–31.
They had an IG story on Thursday that it was their last day of training before leaving, so I believe Madi & Evan traveled yesterday and will probably go through Team USA processing today. Neither have posted anything from Milan yet though.@Sylvia, have you seen any photos of them in Milan or are they still in the U.S.? I think I've seen photos of all the American skaters in Milan except C&B and Ilia.
Instastory below shows most of the U.S. figure skaters as they make their way to the top of the stairs together before entering Team USA welcome experience/team processing. Love their beaming smiles and the applause for them.
(I see: Naumov, Torgashev, Zingas/Kolesnik, Carreira/Ponomarenko, Chan/Howe, Kam/O'Shea, Glenn, Liu, Levito.) ...

Madison Chock and Evan Bates are sharing their candid thoughts on their Olympics scores. The ice dancers spoke exclusively to Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans in Milan where they reacted to their silver medals, a decision that has drawn a lot of controversy from fans online and fellow U.S. figure skaters. “We did everything we could. We wouldn’t have changed a single thing about our performance – or any of our performances or how we approached the week. We’re super proud of the work that we put in – we left no stone unturned, so we can leave the Games feeling satisfied and accomplished with ourselves,” Chock shared. The married couple also revealed if they would consider a scoring appeal. “I suppose we would consider it. I think skating is such a subjective sport, but I do think that for fairness it is good when the judges are reviewed for their work. Not just after this competition but every competition to just make sure there’s a fair and even playing field for all athletes,” Chock explained. Plus, the pair’s moms crashed Access’ interview as they shared how proud they are of their children.
Thanks for this. It's nice to see them recognize how well they performed this week and to laugh a little. I can see why the other skaters on the team respect and appreciate them so much. I had seen that moment that Evan had with Amber during the TE and wanted to hug them both for different reasons. Madi/Evan's WDIV interview was shorter than their moms'Michigan duo and three-time world champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates nailed their routine on Wednesday, racking up a combined score of 224.39.
It was a bittersweet day as the French team turned in the highest score, taking over first place, while Chock and Bates took silver.
Local 4’s Ty Steele spoke with the duo’s mothers.
