Earlier this morning, Hana Bath made history by becoming the first Australian women to win a medal at an ISU Junior Grand Prix Series event. She also became the first Australian female skater to land the rare triple axel/triple toe loop in competition.

In addition to these two major feats, Bath smashed her personal best free skating score. The fifteen year old earned 129.74 points with a total combined score of 192.72 points for the silver medal behind the three - time World Junior Champion, Mao Shimada of Japan.

Combined with her fourth place from the recent ISU JGP - Bangkok, Bath is first reserve for the ISU Junior Grand Prix Series Final in December.

Congratulations Team Australia.

"Whelm" and "overwhelm" are synonyms.

I am curious what was so whelming about Hana Bath last season before she improved her components.

While the technical ability has been obvious from the first time I knew of Bath's work online and later, in person, it is definitely her ability to select music worthy of her talent and the means to interpret it.

Compare her free skating from 2022 to 2025 and Hana really connects with every note now. Beyond the drama of her raw power, she is truly a lovely skater to watch.

That 3Axel-3toe looked so effortless that I would advise her to consider using that as her SP combo!! She's got about 5 months between now and Jr. Worlds!!

Your thoughts...

It may not be allowed in the SP in juniors. They have more restrictions than seniors. People here who follow juniors more than can verify the rules though.

Yes, 3A+3T is allowed but solo 3A is not which is why Hana and Sofie have to do a riskier combo to make it worth putting the 3A in.

Personally I think they should just make the women's requirements the same for junior and senior.

For men I get not allowing quads in junior short but for the women if they're already allowed and able to do a 3A as part of the combo might as well let it be a solo jump too.
