As for the RD, Phebe Bekker was right. Where people used to go through all the music and end up with Carmen, they're now going through all the '90s music and ending up with Backstreet Boys.

The film was a major hit, grossing over 16 million euros at the Italian box office, with over 2.1 million admissions. It was Özpetek's highest-grossing film in his career.

I do agree, the pieces they've selected from the soundtrack are quite lovely. Perfect for background music at a three-star Michelin restaurant. Listening to the rest of the soundtrack - tracks are exactly who GuigFab are as a team. Perfectly refined, perfectly nice, perfectly innocuous - and not all that compelling.

That's the only reason I'm not ruling them out of the Olympic medal hunt entirely. But I do think it's a choice that puts them behind FearGib (especially at Euros).

Oh boy, I don't trust them and Barbara to make their Backstreet Boys RD into something that doesn't make the audience think they are too old for this sh*t. Even S/F with their New Kids On The Block come across as too old for that style, and they are significantly younger than G/F. I also wonder how Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely meets the fast tempo requirement. Anyway, RD does not bode well for them IMHO.

The FD, on the other hand, can be a success I think. The last track in particular can make the Italians at the Olympics go crazy, so I think they chose the right music. I'm not sure it will be enough for a medal, but they can get the home crowd behind them, and that can help.

I recall G/F doing some odd tempo manipulations for Holding Out For a Hero and a butchering of Against All Odds.

I just hope they come out fully baked and approved. They can’t afford any missteps if they want to … podium against all odds.

Not really, its quite obscure, certainly not anything most of the audience would recognize or be familiar with.

Aside from the multi talented, multi faceted and multidimensional Paul Poirier and Piper I think I’m starting to watch dance less because of it

I think you chose the wrong program music post to comment on this. With the exception of Rescue Me House Boat, their RD is literally all one song sang by Madonna in different dubs, and the FD music is not even songs, but movie soundtrack music that flows together into one whole.

indeed. A pity. I am not a fan of the message of that song, but at least it's musically different from others, as none of the notable teams are using Destiny's Child. Now they are probably going to change it to something safe that someone else is also using.
