Here's a recent InStyle article where Adam talks about sexy topics like figure skating finances and doing his taxes!

E.g.: This is my first year I didn’t do my own taxes. When you’re a figure skater, it’s pretty easy, because all you have is a million expenses. It’s not like, ‘I have to hide this in a Swiss bank account.'
Good interview. Love Adam!

Upcoming appearances:

"Open Pride" is set to make its debut as a part of 2019 US Open (tennis) Fan Week. From 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2019: https://www.usopen.org/en_US/news/a...e_event_slated_for_2019_us_open_fan_week.html
The event will also feature a panel presentation, entitled "Love All—An Open Conversation", in association with the Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative. Former NBA player Jason Collins, former MLB player Billy Bean, former ATP player and USTA Board member Brian Vahaly, Olympic medalist and figure skater Adam Rippon, and tennis legend Billie Jean King are all set to give their insights on being out in tennis and other pro sports. The panel will be hosted by sports commentator and jounalist Nick McCarvel, who has helped to spread awareness for the LGBTQ+ community in tennis by launching a grassroots hashtag, #LGBTennis, on social media. ...
Open Pride, like all events during US Open Fan Week, is free and open to the public - but those wishing to attend must RSVP in advance at usopen.org/fanweek under the heading for August 22 events.

I miss seeing Adam skate! Alas, it sounds like show skating really isn't too much in his plans right now. He's focused on the Oct. 15 release of his upcoming book.

Adam was watching Finlandia Trophy in Espoo on Friday with his boyfriend JP, who is from Finland. He said that Finlandia and US Nationals are his favorite competitions.
They seemed happy, this was the first figure skating competition JP had ever seen. He seemed interested. Adam was wearing a nice orange shirt (IIRC).

Is it wrong that I wanted Adam's boyfriend to be called Tom, so that he could be known as Tom, of Finland.

Of course, Finlanda is one of his favorites. He met his BF on Tinder while he was at a Finlanda event.

Im curious to know the range on how much financial support the USFSA gives to skaters.

The amount of funding the skaters on USFS envelope has slowly increased over the years, but ballpark range
Envelope A ranges between $15K-about $20K for the season, depending on the tier. Each envelope steps the funding down , by about $5K per envelope.

If skaters land on the podium at JGP and SGP events, prize money is awarded (thru 5th place at the SGP level)
2018/2019 prize money information:

SGP (2018/2019)

1st place: 2nd place: 3rd place: 4th place: 5th place:
Men and Ladies
US$ 18,000.00 US$ 13,000.00 US$ 9,000.00 US$ 3,000.00 US$ 2,000.00
Pair Skating and Ice Dance (per Couple)
US$ 18,000.00 US$ 13,000.00 US$ 9,000.00 US$ 3,000.00 US$ 2,000.00

JPG (2019/2020)

1st place : 2nd place: 3rd place
Men and Ladies
US$ $2,000.00 $1,500.00 $1,000.00
Pairs and Ice Dance (per couple)
US$ $3,000.00 $2,250.00 $1,500.00

Rippon is spot on when he talks about the cost of skating each season, and the expenses only continue to rise.
Patrick Chan was quoted back in 2011 that his skating expenses ran over $150K.

Article ahead of his final book tour stop in Miami tomorrow:

Amazon Books uploaded Adam's book talk on their YT channel 2 days ago:

Direct link to watch:
Today is my 30th birthday. I couldn’t be more grateful for everything and everyone in my life. Thank you for always sending love and positive energy my way. I hope I’m always able to do the same for you.

I wanted to do something fun for myself so I asked one of my old skating choreographers, Cindy Stuart, to put this together with me. She is amazing. And Ben Platt is also amazing (duh) and when I heard him do a cover of this song I knew I had to skate to it. A huge thank you to On Ice Perspectives for putting it all together ❤️
