I hadn't noticed that. But they are not a high level team, and, also, Davis/Smolkin are now using another Offspring song instead of Destiny's Child.

. By now, I am starting to regret that Fournier-Beaudry/Cizeron were not able to use Depeche Mode for their RD, no matter how inappropriate some thought it was for the theme and their choreo. At least it was different, but now they are just one of the teams that are using 'Vogue'.

Vogue may have been released in 1990, but it's a heck of a lot less 90s than Depeche Mode. Given it was also allowed for the '80s RD category, seems the ISU agrees it's '80s.

Given how many teams did it for the 80s theme it's also just an uninspired choice.

They look kind of like a spiffed-up take on US high school cheerleaders from a 1990s teen movie - played, they were in most of said movies, by 30-year-olds. Appropriate enough, I guess!

I didn't realize (or forgot) Vogue was permitted for the 80s RD, but I disagree that it feels like an 80s tune, the song reflects early 90s Madonna and her aesthetic of that era. But the whole thing just shows how stupid the decade RDs are. If the ISU wants to go for viral bait, a disco theme, a hip hop theme, a twist theme, a line dance theme, etc would make much more sense. And maybe a chicken dance theme for good measure.

It shows their bias, period. But in the defence of FB/C it will just make their RD better.

I don’t know they just don’t make the theme “Tik Tok Dance,” with no restrictions as to music or steps, and have done with it!

So apparently, Guignard/Fabbri's answer to the question of how to make show me the meaning of being lonely meet the fast tempo requirement is to speed it up by quite a lot. It was jarring and I have no idea who thought ot was a good idea, especially when the Everybody section is actually good.
