Nemirovsky

3z-3t toe was leaning outside, but she held on, 2a big, skating with more command than last season, 3r nice. can see that she's worked on the presentation side, would like more facial expression, giving away levels on spins (2 & 3), nice clean skate

Very nice program from Emilia. Lots of confidence and power to her skating. Definitely needs to up the technical ante on her spins & step sequence, but other than that, excellent program.

Baranovska

2a, 3r with Rippon arms tight, flying sit nicely placed with the music, 3z step out and no combo :( and things were going so well!, looked like she was rushing through some of the positions in the combo spin, nice interpretation

Gladki

3r, 2a low, 3z-3t tidy in air, rocking on edges before takeoff, nice musical engagement during the step sequence, nice transitions, nice skate

Kim

3t-3t fall, skating with nice speed across the ice, 3r short and fall, 2a nice, further along with her basic skating than many of the previous skaters, nice spins, too bad about the jumps

Tkachman

3z-3t short, 3r short, nice delicate movement, but could use more speed, 2a most successful with twizzle transition out

Jurka

JGP debut, 3z-3t on lutz landing hand reaching down but kept off the ice and managed the 3t (likely short), nice 2a, cover of tango el roxanne, why does my heart cry? 3r fall, nice combo spin, choreo is okay

Jessica Jurka has some nice detail in her program but needs more speed. Oops, down on the loop. First Moulin Rouge singer I've heard that sounds like she's genuinely dying of TB.

Rough skate for Tatirat, but I liked her program. A Laufey song, apparently. She has some really good songs!

Esaian

3z hesitates-2t, 2a turnout, 3r rippon, some work to do on power and basics like crossover technique and depth of edge, Russian choreo

Ezhova

3r, 2a with Rippon arms, nice flow across the ice, and I like how the colors of her dress swirl around while she moves, 3z-3t Rippon toe may have been short, spiral nicely placed with the music, nice sensitivity to the music and interpretation, good skate

Barakhtina

continuing our group of Russian-born skaters

2a nice, 3r easy, 3z-3t rippon on toe, clean elements, could add more expression, keeping up energy well through the entire program, clean skate with good technique

Barakhtina

continuing our group of Russian-born skaters

2a nice, 3r easy, 3z-3t rippon on toe, clean elements, could add more expression, keeping up energy well through the entire program, clean skate with good technique
Really like her potential, she is already matured physically so if she can compete consistently she will have a bright future in Canada.

Shimada

2a which covered good distance, 3r, 3z-3t with some footwork leading in, good speed, good presence and performance, quality spins to end :cheer2:

Allakhverdieva

3s step out no combo, 3r fall, 2a nice nice artistic commitment, curling up into a ball at ending. Ted says Egadze choreographed this; I didn't know he had it in him!

Lee, Hyowon

3r nice, 2a needs to extend that free leg on landing, 3f-3t, some polishing to do, but nice foundation

After 4 of 6 groups we have our 2nd ice resurfacing.

I’m finally caught up. I don’t enjoy Mao’s program as much this year as last year. I also thought her lutz looked wonky but she is clearly the class of the field. I know I say this all the time but Emilia reminds me so much of Gracie Gold (the dress she wore today was even reminiscent of one Gracie wore a few years ago). Someone needs to help her count her spins. They are for sure her weakest element, but there were so many spins that she was 1 revolution or less short and lost a level. All that said, she should have had more GOE on her jumps. Her jumps are textbook! I don’t typically follow JGP, just pop in and watch a few individual programs but there has been a lot of decent skates this AM!
ETA - I enjoyed Mei from Japan more than Mao. This was my first time seeing her, what a lovely skater!

trying to make the JGPF (top 3 will guarantee a spot), 3r smooth, 2a looks like she's holding back a bit in expression at beginning--very controlled skating, 3z-3t, nice expression in the steps, nice skate

Guo

spades on her gloves, 3z-3t I'd review; those were small jumps, 2a, dealing some cards in her choreo, 3r, could put more feeling into her interpretation, nice layback spin
