Well, at this point, yes, I am betting LP. Love it there so I am thrilled! Also, the pre-announcement figured emojis with a snowflake, snow-covered mountains, hockey skates, a stick and a puck, and a gold medal

Those of you who do not drive, how do you plan to get there if it is in Lake Placid?
Well, that might be a better option than my car, depending on weather...Dog sled.
I haven't seen an ISU Communication yet announcing the Challenger Series events for next season. Canadian fans on X are convinced that it won't be in Canada because Skate Canada already released their competition calendar for next season & didn't include any early fall competitions like Autumn Classic. Is there any word on a Challenger in the U.S. or Canada? I can't seem to find a complete list of events or schedule but I came across an ISU doc from March that says a Challenger will be hosted by either the U.S. or Canada. Depending on location, i might go there.

I'm not thrilled about a 7 1/2 hour drive, even if it was 80 degrees. And I checked the rate for the Courtyard Marriott in LP and it's over $300/night.

As I live in Manhattan, I just take AmTrak to Westport and then hire a car. You can also fly into Adirondack Regional Airport, or Albany or Montreal, and then take the bus or hire a car. Guess it depends where you're coming from. Those of you who do not drive, how do you plan to get there if it is in Lake Placid?
No. The gold medal makes it clear. USA didn't win gold in either men's or women's hockey in 2002. Plus, both the Delta Center nor the Maverik Center in SLC have events booked during the window required to host SkAm.Maybe there is a chance the symbols mean Salt Lake City?
I take the bus from the Albany Airport in July for the Ice Dance competitions, but November can be iffy since it's a 2.5 hour ride through the mountains. As I live in Manhattan, I just take AmTrak to Westport and then hire a car. USA won gold in both 1960 and 1980 at home - Squaw Valley and Lake Placid. There's no rink at Squaw Valley anymore, so it's LP.
I’m not planning to chance it. Flights from Logan to the closest airports aren’t cheap, and it’s a 6+ hour trip no matter whether you fly, take the train part of the way, or drive. By November, I’m already thinking about being warmer, not colder.I take the bus from the Albany Airport in July for the Ice Dance competitions, but November can be iffy since it's a 2.5 hour ride through the mountains.
Also announced in that press release are the sites for Sectionals and the approved NQS competitions. Guess we need a separate thread for that. It's official.

Skate America Returns to Lake Placid for the First Time Since 2017 | U.S. Figure Skating

Well, not necessarily. The ISU still hasn't issued any communication regarding next season's Challenger Series. The USFS may be able to announce anything until the ISU Council finalizes that.Hmmm, the list of upcoming events doesn't include a Challenger. If there isn't one in the U.S. and there isn't one in Canada, I guess that means none in N.A. Oh well, guess my next major comp will be Nats.
Never mind - the dream of not Lake Placid is dead. I will be missing Skate America for the first time since 2020. Hope those who can make the journey enjoy!
I don't. I feel like most athletes are not quite competition ready in early October and the performances often reflect that.I also prefer when SKAM goes first...
@Firedancer and I will be driving from Albany. I gotta take Dramamine for that car ride![]()
