Nebelhorn Trophy 2024 - Women's SP & FS

Kimmy - oooo - another dress in shades of blue going from sky to teal-ish denim - swirly bodice with a fair bit of illusion, and silver crystals & stoning, one sleeve, skirt is asymmetrical with a couple of layers. Love this dress.

Fall on her opening jump; good 2a; oof - down on her other triple so no combo.

I don't know about this music. Bio says "Mother Nature" by Hans Zimmer, Raye - Google says it's from David Attenborough's "Planet Earth III" series.

so first jump was probably a flip

And now I have to think about this guy on the forum (I don't know who he was but he was definitely male) who once got into a skating argument with me and to undermine his point went into 2 year old pbp from Nebelhorn Trophy were I was live and posted from the rink and counted (!) how many times I misidentified lutz and flips.
you are very welcome to do this as well if you ever think that you come out short in an argument with me, it provided endless amusement for me

I am infantil and have to giggle imagining her skating pairs with Livio, the guy from Austria

3z2toe, the lutz was GORGEOUS

2a right to the music

interesting program, good posture, maybe skated a bit too concentrated

Livia - black dress with a round neck, some slashy cutouts on the front and diagonally down her back, plenty of silver crystals, long sleeves & gloves - well, unlike Kimmy, she's landing her jumps today. Music is "Me And The Devil" by Soap & Skin, Anja Plaschg and it has kind of a dirge-y beat; meh.

Elizabeth Gervits of ISR - now, this is a dress... One arm and half the bodice & skirt including the mock turtleneck are navy blue and the shoulder & wrist are encrusted in stones & crystals; the other half of the dress is fluorescent pink, sleeveless with an armband of applique flowers around her bicep and flowers whickety-whacked down the pink side of the transition between the two colors on the front, both sides of the transition also have silver crystals; oh and her sleeveless hand has a black or maybe navy blue glove - I notice after she finished that there's a cord of the same black/navy blue vines around her arm down to just above the elbow and her wrist too. I have no comments about the actual program - this dress is THAT fascinating.

@PRlady - I don't hate it - mostly because the color combination doesn't disturb me, lol.

oh completely messes up the camel spin, first loses speed in the camel feature and then hand down in the illusion spin

I hate it enough for both of us.

Lundgren - is this Scheherazade? Or maybe Aladdin? Costume seems vaguely middle eastern-ish - but the colors are just... why? The skirt and bodice section over her breasts is a light rust-color, then there's a midriff section in pink, and another midriff section below that in burgundy - and they're both detailed in silver sequins/cording; and then there is this wide band also detailed in stoning & crystals that forms sort of a sweetheart neckline and drapes around the shoulders but it has faux straps and a jewel neck as well in the same color as the band with the crystals & stones. This dress is a fail.

Attack of the Taureg from The Mummy says Shazam.

Olga! She must have kept the tango SP from last season because I'm pretty sure this is the same dress - and it's still as lovely as it was then - a quick Google image search confirms, lol. Shame her jumps aren't with her yet today.

lol i literally do not remember this program at all

Mia Risa Gomez - HOT pink with a fringe skirt that has an orange underlayer; spaghetti straps with some crystal detailing - the dress screamed Latin and that's what we've got. I guess she's honoring her Mexican heritage with this program. Jumps not there but she does a decent job of expressing the music so I can't fault her there.

to be honest, the ice resurfacing is very welcome! That is a lot of skating today, I have already rectangular eyes from watching so much tv

Repond never jumped more than five inches off the ice, and it's not surprising that jump issues would catch up with her eventually. It's like watching a much taller Samodourova.

Ehhhhhh... People have been saying this since she was a junior and while it seems to be true in the early part of the season each year she's been in seniors, she's managed to get it together, for the most part, by either Euros or Worlds. She's not one to ever count out as a result.

I'm curious to see how Levito shows up here later on. Between Lin-Gracey, Everhardt, and Glenn, plus various wildcards like Liu, Ziegler, and possibly Thorngren, she is not in as secure a spot as a world silver medallist would ordinarily be.

She could easily find herself in Ashley Wagner land, going from World silver medallist to national also-ran within two years or potentially sooner. I hope not, but I do worry that her lutz-toe combination looks worse and worse in every competition. Levito is going to need every point on spins and also PCS to come out ahead in the SP.

Don't forget Tennell - she was looking really good last fall until she broke her ankle. We'll see how she looks in a few weeks again at Shanghai Trophy.

It will be interesting to see how Levito looks in a little while - was Cranberry really just being underprepared for an early season start?

Also, in addition to my other comment - how dare anyone besmirch the name of Samodurova?! She gave us the very best Burlesque program ever and her Euros title is one of my fondest memories of Russian women's skating in the last decade!
