I really like Z&K as skaters but that type of music needs to be banned from figure skating. I’m not sure of the genre? Yoga class chic? They are capable of great programs.

I’m yet to find a Carmen programme I don’t like and CPom don’t disappoint. Even a bit of boardography I actually enjoyed! Christina looks fab, gold was a great choice for Carmen. A bit distracted trying to work out if Anthony is wearing a shirt and trousers or a onesie.

Well, I couldn't say it until after his twizzles today - but yesterday and then today, there's just a new speed and confidence coming from him going into and through them. Just ZERO fear.

That program is amazing! They were both SOOOO into their characters and told the story SOOOO well! This is what we need from ice dance and Carmen!

Lilah looked like she stepped out of her last twizle a bit early, but I'm sure it will be fine on review.

I do still like this combo lift they do here at the end of the "Halo" section.

I think they've packed more oomph into the final section - I'd have to go back and listen/watch their FD from last month to be sure. Still not a fan of it but it does seem to have more of a punch, though I'm still only whelmed. Not under, not over, just whelmed.

Lewis looked a bit tight today but I think my main gripe with this programme is that it centres Lilah too much. They need to get him out of the black! Back with an old lift in place of the variation that wasn’t working in Sheffield; hopefully they will change it again as the season progresses.

ZINGAS/KOLESNIK-USA-FDNailed it! First half of program is stunning. Lyrical, calm, fluid... showing off thier range. Second half is powerful, fast, sharp... more similar to what they are doing energy-wise in RD. So much explosive power. Bravo!

CARREIRA/PONOMARENKO-USA-FDCarmen. Christina is fabulous throughout, she has become so strong in the last 2 years. Excellent choreo and character dev. Lunge changepose lift is crazy hard. Way to go!!!

Edited to add his comments on the winners:

FEAR/GIBSON-GBR-FD Disappointed. IMO first 2 sections show off her weakness. 3rd section finally allows them to shine in their wonderful ability to dance, connect with the crowd and execute INSANE lifts! I hope they will re-work the first 2/3.

Congratulations to everyone! Such strong performances so early in the season! I wish we would see more nuance from the panel regarding the components. The point of separating SS from Pres and Comp is to reward couples for their strengths, while accounting for their weaknesses.
