I remember this! I'd repressed the red veil somehow. As a vaguely gothic teen, I was really into Coppola's Dracula, the music is glorious, especially this piece, I wish it was rediscovered by current skaters. Although I enjoyed K/P's crossovers more than the entire performances of some current teams.

The bio of the guy who made the tweet and all the various skating media he tagged makes me wonder if he is trying to create buzz around this possibility. Add that to odd person hinting at their return it does seem like it's a possibility. But it doesn't seem to be picking up that much interest in the way similar drops and hints might have for others.

Based on the choreography Guillaume does for other skaters he seems to have a very specific narrow artistic vision but if they do return I hope he fights against that instinct and they do something totally unexpected and create some new elements.

Maybe they don't want Rocky to be OGM? I was annoyed when V/M returned prior to the 2018 Olympics, but would welcome P/C to come back. They weren't always my cup of tea on the lyrical/artsy stuff, but if G/F aren't going to be pushed to the top, I'd rather not see some of the other teams as OGM.

Can you imagine the Babs death glare coming from Madison Chock if that happened?

I think that :

• their visible mental fatigue after the 2022 Olys meant that people accepted that they were done
• they would only come back with something new, at the condition they would both be mentally ready.

Maybe they are. But I think people will wait for an official announcement before getting excited.

Beyond the fatigue, the biggest reason to think they were done is simply that it's extremely rare for teams to actually come back from the sort of lengthy pause that they've taken. The life of an elite athlete is grueling, and even if your mind isn't initially made up when you take a break, it's usually pretty hard to imagine going back once you've stopped for any length of time.

But it does seem like it's trending that way for Papadakis and Cizeron.

taking ballet and choreography classes with the paris opera ballet seems a little much just to prepare for holiday shows. i've already been super disappointed in my anticipation of h/b's return this year (not in the skaters in themselves), so i'm not trying to set myself up for another disappointment with a possible return of p/c to competition. but this looks like a pretty serious attempt to get back in fighting shape as well as absorb some new techniques/inspiration.

Finlandia whistleblower Hilary Selby will be back in action at the British Championships this afternoon as the tech controller. She’ll be joined on the tech and judging panels by pretty much every qualified British official, with a domestic-only TS swapping in for Candi Towler-Green in the junior event, where Candi has a conflict of interest.

And I’m sure it’s a coincidence that the judge who always scores Bekker/Hernandez harshly is swapped with the referee for the senior event.

The end of the GP series feels like a turning point in the season, so here's a stocktake on who's going to be hitting up Bosphorus Cup / Bavarian Open / Egna Trophy etc in search of those elusive minimums. I haven't included teams who don't have their minimums from countries who already have enough eligible teams to fill their championship spots.
