I remember this! I'd repressed the red veil somehow. As a vaguely gothic teen, I was really into Coppola's Dracula, the music is glorious, especially this piece, I wish it was rediscovered by current skaters. Although I enjoyed K/P's crossovers more than the entire performances of some current teams.LOL. If there were a team that I could easily imagine doing any of those things, it would be K/P. After all, they were once out there doing things like this Dracula program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YsZ4kUJoso
Not dancers, but pairs team Ghilardi/Ambrosini are using the same piece in their LP this season!I remember this! I'd repressed the red veil somehow. For holiday shows? Sure. To compete? Nah.
Per various reports, things are very much leaning the way of them returning. For holiday shows? Sure. To compete? Nah.
The bio of the guy who made the tweet and all the various skating media he tagged makes me wonder if he is trying to create buzz around this possibility. Add that to odd person hinting at their return it does seem like it's a possibility. But it doesn't seem to be picking up that much interest in the way similar drops and hints might have for others. For holiday shows? Sure. To compete? Nah.
If Paul Peret says that, that's a legitimate question.
Beyond the fatigue, the biggest reason to think they were done is simply that it's extremely rare for teams to actually come back from the sort of lengthy pause that they've taken. The life of an elite athlete is grueling, and even if your mind isn't initially made up when you take a break, it's usually pretty hard to imagine going back once you've stopped for any length of time.If Paul Peret says that, that's a legitimate question.
I think that :
- their visible mental fatigue after the 2022 Olys meant that people accepted that they were done
- they would only come back with something new, at the condition they would both be mentally ready.
Maybe they are. But I think people will wait for an official announcement before getting excited.
taking ballet and choreography classes with the paris opera ballet seems a little much just to prepare for holiday shows. i've already been super disappointed in my anticipation of h/b's return this year (not in the skaters in themselves), so i'm not trying to set myself up for another disappointment with a possible return of p/c to competition. but this looks like a pretty serious attempt to get back in fighting shape as well as absorb some new techniques/inspiration.For holiday shows? Sure. To compete? Nah.
Guess I've been living under a rock. Nice to see Jonathan Guerreiro's name on that listCallers this week
Bosphorus Cup:
Akos Pethes (Hungary), Olga Akimova (Ukraine), Aliki Stergiadu (Sweden)
Pethes was the TC at Pavel Roman Memorial. Akimova was TS at JGP Gdansk, Swiss Ice Open, NRW Trophy. Stergiadu hasn't served in an international competition in a long time (2017-18 season).
Akimova skated for Uzbekistan back in her competitive days. Stergiadu skated for URSS (when she was Junior Worlds with Juris Rezgulajevs), Latvia and Uzbekistan.
Santa Claus Cup (without Senior):
Marcin Kozubek (Poland), Jana Vanova (Slovakia) and Matteo Zanni (Italy).
Yuri Balkov is gracing Novices with his marks again.
Australian Nationals
Andrew Dodds will call in Adavance Novices and Jonathan Guerreiro in Senior.

Nick Russell? And I’m sure it’s a coincidence that the judge who always scores Bekker/Hernandez harshly is swapped with the referee for the senior event.
Ice dancers in search of technical minimums....
The end of the GP series feels like a turning point in the season, so here's a stocktake on who's going to be hitting up Bosphorus Cup / Bavarian Open / Egna Trophy etc in search of those elusive minimums. I haven't included teams who don't have their minimums from countries who already have enough eligible teams to fill their championship spots.
Euros/4CCs
AUS - Romy Malcolm / Kobi Chant (need both), India Nette / Eron Westwood (need FD - season debut at Golden Spin)
DEN - Elisabetta Incardona / Rafael Musil (need both)
JPN - Azusa Tanaka / Shingo Nishiyama (need both), Utana Yoshida / Masaya Morita (need both) - both teams making their international debut at Golden Spin
TUR - Katarina DelCamp / Berk Akalin (need both) - presumably they're planning to compete internationally at some point, though since they're not on the start list for Bosphorus Cup or Golden Spin I guess that won't be at Euros
Worlds
ARM - Viktoriia Azroian / Artur Gruzdev (need RD)
AZE - Adrienne Carhart / Oleksandr Kolosovskyi (need FD), Samatha Ritter / Daniel Brykalov (need RD)
BEL - Livvy Shilling / Leo Baeten (need both)
BRA - Natalia Pallu-Neves / Jayin Panesar (need RD)
CHE - Nicole Calderari / Christian Murer (need both), Ariana Sassi / Luca Morini (need RD), Gina Zehnder / Beda Sieber (need both - senior debut at Bosphorus Cup)
KAZ - Gaukhar Nauryzonz / Boyisangur Datiev (need RD)
LTU - Paulina Ramanauskaite / Deividas Kizala (need both)
POL - Oleksandra Borysova / Aaron Freeman (need both), Sofiia Dovhal / Wiktor Kulesza (need RD), Olivia Oliver / Filip Bojanowski (need FD) - Polibina/Golovishnikov have minimums but she tore her Achilles at Warsaw Cup so seems reasonable to assume they may be out for the rest of the season
Junior Worlds
AUS - Renee Yuen / Oliver Ma (need both)
EST - Ksenia Sipunova / Miron Korjagin (need both)
KAZ - Eva Shelaeva / Ivan Solovyev (need FD)
TUK - Irmak Yucel / Daniil Pak (need both - debut at Bosphorus Cup)
ZAF - Felicity Chase / Mikhail Ajam (need both)
Well, they’re engaged now, so that’s probably not in the cards. What a boring FD from S/F.
IMO, Shane needs to ditch Soucisse, she just gets dragged around and has no musicality or personality whatsoever.

China and Japan judges are cheaper to invite unless Finland Fed send Saarelainen (who has double qualification) for one of their two Single and Pair judging slots.

The teams need to be on the lookout for ! calls on their choreo elements.Callers: Christine Hurth (Skate America and NRW Trophy this season), Ayako Higashino (seasonal debut. Called at 2014 and 2022 Olympics) and Kristin Fraser-Lukanin (Lake Placid and Skate Canada).
Referee: Jennifer Mast (USA)
Higashino called Worlds and Skate Canada last season.Callers: Christine Hurth (Skate America and NRW Trophy this season), Ayako Higashino (seasonal debut. Called at 2014 and 2022 Olympics) and Kristin Fraser-Lukanin (Lake Placid and Skate Canada).
I anticipate the judging will be poor as usual and follow protocol and reward the older teams , I just hope they have the guts to shake things up and put teams Like LALA and the brits on the podium. The teams need to be on the lookout for ! calls on their choreo elements.
Higashino called Worlds and Skate Canada last season.
Hurth has been very busy this season. Judge at NHK Trophy, caller at Skate America, judged JGP Armenia.
How can they serve 80s by using a Lady Gaga 2021 ‘part’?as far as the music choices how much they are my favorite as far as bringing in serving the 80s. Also did Laurence and nic change their top gun music? Where was the Lady Gaga 2021 part?
How can they serve 80s by using a Lady Gaga 2021 ‘part’?![]()
That’s what I’ve been asking all season long. why is gaga top gun used in this program?
so my question is now did they finally change the music, it seems like they did
They never had the Lady Gaga song that I remember.
