The Heir, The Spare and the “Baby Brain” -The Prince Harry and Meghan show rumbles on…

Prince Harry has been proven right that the RF staff threw him under the bus re tabloid lies & relentless harassment. Also one of William's staffer who publically accused Meghan of bullying her staff just got an honor from William.

Is this the guy who worked FOR Harry and Meghan and was used by them to pass on info to the authors of Finding Freedom so they could maintain plausible deniability for contributing to the book they claimed they had nothing to do with? ;)

No, according to the article this guy always worked for William.

This was part of Charles's New Years Honours list; William was the one at the ceremony, as the BRF does split these duties (Anne does investitures, too).

Is it possible - just a thought - that this staffer reported accurately on what was happening and has been doing a good job in general? Anyway, given the sheer number of people Harry has cheerfully been throwing under the bus, he's really one to speak

I kind of don’t want to go over this but this staffer isn’t the only one who was saying something. The man wrote in an internal Email.

He never meant it to go public and he publically yelled about some of the racist things said about Meghan.

There are reporters who saw Meghan speaking very harshly to your staff.

It’s very much not appropriate to reprimand a staff member in public where anyone can see it.

I don’t know what happened. I read somewhere where one moment Meghan could be extremely nice and the nest moment very harsh (like a lot of us)

But the staff members have non disclosure agreements and literally cannot defend themselves.

Mea culpa! I called this guy William's staffer. Horrors! Yes, he worked for M&H too but he also worked for William then & still does. So what was incorrect in how I phrased it?

Well you answered "no" when I asked if this wasn't the same guy that also worked for Meghan and Harry....

You made it sound like he only worked for them. I think both of us could have phrased our posts a little better.

I'm sorry, but I still don't understand how all this proves this
That someone working ostensibly for both was more loyal to one person and safeguarding their interests than the other, who was thrown under the bus. This is in the context of leaking things about Harry to the press to distract from William and Kate.

Unless there's a person who represents an entity of both of them, having one person representing two individuals is risky. Perhaps back in the day when it was a William-Harry-Kate triumverate, it seemed like a good idea, even it if wasn't, since there's a lot of stored insider information.

In any case, this is speculation, and there is no evidence.

This is a living nightmare. How tragic that hisory is repeating itself. The paparazzi should be charged for attempted murder and imprisoned!

from the article:

Buckingham Palace told CNN on Wednesday that it would not be commenting on the incident.
Of course not.

Not downplaying the potential dangers of careless driving, but I'd like to see something from a source not associated with the Sussexes that there was a crash or that it was "near-catastrophic". The story says "The Sussexes’ account was partially supported by a local law enforcement source, who said that the couple were followed by a “swarm” of paparazzi after leaving the event. While the incident was dangerous, it did not result in a crash, the source said."

I haven't been to New York, but I can't imagine a 2-hour chase through such a city.
I have driven in NYC and I have to say that this sounds very scary. The roads are narrow, there are many one-way streets, and pedestrians often cross against the light or in the middle of the street.

I knew someone would say this. First of all, no one said there was a crash, just that there could have been. Secondly, there is corroboration from the police and from bystanders. I understand that for some people nothing would be good enough proof but hopefully, most people will see that this event did happen and was dangerous.

that's why I can only imagine the police chasing the criminal.
For more than 2 hours, the police could not stop the criminals, while Harry and Megan for some reason rode around the city for more than 2 hours. Why didn't they stop and call the police? Were they afraid that the paparazzi would attack them in the car?
It's scary to live in New York.

They made their way to a police station. It's in the article.

“Driving the wrong way on a one-way street…” HG Tudor calls it “the style of Starsky and Hutch”…in the above blog. ?

Statement from the NYPD:

On Wednesday evening, May 16, the NYPD assisted the private security team protecting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“There were numerous photographers that made their transport challenging.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination and there were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests in regard.”

From the Washington Post:

In an interview on Wednesday, taxi driver Sukhcharn Singh said he picked the couple up in New York on Tuesday night and drove them for a brief period, during which it appeared they were pursued by other vehicles.

Singh said he picked up Harry, Meghan, an older Black woman and one security guard in his yellow cab at about 11 p.m. outside the New York City Police Department’s 19th precinct on East 67th Street. In Singh’s account, the guard waved him down and asked: “Do you want a fare?”

Singh, who goes by “Sunny,” said he drove the group the block and a half west to Park Avenue before heading south. The driver said they were pursued by two vehicles: a black Honda Accord and an older gray Honda CR-V.
“They kept following us and were coming next to the car,” Singh said. “They took pictures as we stopped and were filming us.”

Eric Adams, Mayor of NYC:

New York Mayor Eric Adams (D) said Wednesday morning that he had been given a preliminary briefing on the matter and had been informed that two New York City police officers “could have been injured.”

“New York City’s different from a small town somewhere,” Adams said in response to questions during an unrelated appearance. “You shouldn’t be speeding anywhere, but this is a densely populated city.”

Adams referred to the situation as a chase and called the situation “a bit reckless and irresponsible.” He seemed skeptical about whether there could have been a high-speed chase for two hours in New York City, but said “a 10-minute chase is extremely dangerous in New York City.”

They made their way to a police station. It's in the article.
Did they search for the police station for more than 2 hours?
The article says that the pursuit lasted more than 2 hours. Someone explain to me why they didn't stop sooner? And I just envy the size of New York where you can arrange races lasting more than 2 hours.
When is the new "Fast and the Furious" coming out?

Less trustworthy when the source is unidentified/not an official spokesperson, but this provides a useful timeline - from Sky News UK:

Police sources in New York have given the following breakdown of what happened on Tuesday night.

:: Harry and Meghan leave the Ziegfeld Ballroom with private security with them at around 10pm local time. Police say the couple wanted to go back to where they were staying on the Upper East Side.

:: Harry and Meghan didn't want paparazzi to know where they were going so they were driven across 57th street and other streets for about an hour and fifteen minutes. One NYPD vehicle was escorting their vehicle.

:: The Sussexes were driven to the 19th precinct and stayed there around 15 minutes. Police helped get the pair get off the block and they got into a different car. They got to their residence without being followed. Police have said it was a bit of a chaotic scene.

There is a photo of Meghan, Harry and Doria in the back seat of an automobile on TMZ's web site. Not sure if it's the SUV they were driving in after leaving the award ceremony or the cab they took after leaving the police station (Harry appears to be filming something out the opposite window with his phone) but it appears none of the three are wearing seatbelts. :wall: Press release about "near catastrophic" car chase but no seat belts!! From the descriptions I read, it was M/H/D's driver who accelerated to near 80mph to out run the paps. Why? Stand around for 5-10 minutes, let the paps get their photos and then be safely on your merry way.

Do you read these articles looking for points to nitpick so you can criticize this couple? Because it sure seems like you do.

Given you've never been to NY let alone drove in the city (as I have), you have absolutely no idea what the realities of the situation are. Several sources said that the paparazzi were driving recklessly and the police have come down quite hard on them saying that they almost injured police officers. Other bystanders have said the same.

But, sure, Harry & Meghan made the whole thing up and they were actually on a sightseeing tour through the city.
