Yep, I watched the Special Forces show! Man - that was brutal. Spoilers in case anyone doesn't want to know results...

l I don't know how they greenlit Kate to be on the show - she was not fit either physically or mentally for it and yet I still give her kudos cause she did jump off the helicopter she just didn't do it right. The other one hurt and out was Montell Jordan - broke his thumb I think while fighting with the guy in pads. Nastia had a mental breakdown cause she didn't want to hit anyone - the guy is in pads - just do some light jabs Nastia! Then there was Tyler Florence - I was disappointed in him - he talked a good game and ranked himself as one of the best and then he just quit! But maybe he was the smart one for quitting - not sure these "celebs" knew quite what they signed up for. Oh and the hoods over the heads anytime they want to speak to them privately was a bit overkill too.

Yeah, I too am seriously worried about them... but I gotta admit I found it fascinating and will keep watching! lol

Oh yeah, Imma keep watching too. But its like way too much overkill on these tasks for middle aged normal people. Even the athletes are on the downward arc of their prime, ya know? But like that tightrope task, first they make them literally crawl up the side of a huge mountain and THEN go do the tighrope across a 300 foot divide?!! My legs would be shot just from the climb! And again ... normal people! Its like me hauling my butt off the couch tryin' to do those tasks. Way too much.

But I give a million kudos to Nastia for getting across that tightrope when she almost fell off it. You could see that years of muscle memory and training and mindset of not falling off that beam come into play, contorting her body every which way to keep herself on that rope. That was amazing the way she righted herself after coming thisclose to falling off.

I still think they got the concept of this show all wrong. Do the exact same show but no celebrities. Make the contestants military recruits who are physically capable of doing these demanding tasks. I would watch that show too.

I don't think watching people competently do things is nearly as interesting as watching people who you aren't sure can do it attempt them.
I watched the first hour of the first episode then turned it to PBS because there was something else on that network that I wanted to watch more. However, I intend to continue watching Special Forces, because I'm interested in seeing who survives. It kind of surprised me that four people have dropped out already. (The doctor due to extreme dehydration? Doesn't make sense that it would happen to him, of all people. You'd think he'd have known better.) That being said, I have to regard the series as more entertainment rather that actual competition. To me, the series lacks validity in that all candidates for any type of Special Forces training have already gone through preliminary training in order to get to the point where they would be even allowed to apply to the actual military program. At the very least, all the real world candidates would have endured several weeks of Basic Training, which would have started the physical and mental conditioning process that's required to even be a member of the military. The real world candidates would also more than likely have experienced some type of preliminary commando training--Airborne training, for example--to prepare for Special Forces candidacy. So, not only are the participants on the show pretty far past the age of a typical Special Forces trainee, they are also not conditioned in the same way that that Trainee would be in preparation for the Program. I really wonder who recruited these particular participants and how the concept and execution of the show was explained to them. Surely they could have been more prepared?

Just a note that Miracle Workers Season 4 on TBS has been delayed. I kept looking for it on my guide/dvr schedule and it wouldn't show up, so did some searching and it seems to be delayed and just said to be "coming soon" now.

THE LAST OF US - HBO - 9 p.m. (Horror Drama)
THE WAY HOME - Hallmark - 9 p.m. (Drama)

The Last Of Us looks like it might be quite good, but I don't have HBO. So I tuned into The Way Home, which is airing in Canada on the W Network. I liked the first episode, the premise is really good. The cast is quite strong, much thanks to Andie MacDowell as the family matriarch. Hopefully they move the characters past all the bickering and get into the connections the characters form with one another...over two different time periods! Can't wait to see how it all plays out. :cheer:

The Last of Us is in the Crave streaming service in Canada if you have that. I still need to start it but my brother loves it. Part of it filmed here so my plan is to start it before the finale so I can see if I recognize anything. I'm not generally into horror but too many people who's opinions I respect love it and I've heard amazing things about episode 3.

The Way Home has Chyler Leigh and I adore her but I'm not sure if The Way Home is for me so I'm kind of waiting until it's done so I can evaluate the whole instead of the part.

Yesterday in General Hospital, Laura was talking about a little girl skating and she said “Does she want to be the next Karen Chen?” 😂 There has to be a fangirl in the writer’s room because how do you go with Karen and not Michelle or even Kristi.

ACCUSED - Fox - 9 p.m. (Crime Drama Anthology Series)

I've watched two episodes of this show. The first was very strong (starring Michael Chiklis and Jill Hennessy) and the second one was good as well (which was directed by Marlee Matlin). The stories are on the dark side, but I guess that's to be expected when they center around someone accused of a crime. I like how every week is a different story with a completely different cast.

Me too! I may rewatch the season 2 finale before starting season 3. Season 2 had annoyed the crap out of me at times, but I loved the closing scenes, especially with Picard and Q. Fabulous acting, especially by John De Lancie.

waiting for @PeterG to discuss some Masked Singer :)

I figured out Mustang pretty quickly. I own pretty much all of her albums, so that was easy.

Gnome was more difficult. Something about his voice made me think of the comedian from yesteryear, Alan King. But google told me he passed away in 2004, so I was pretty sure it wasn't him. 😉 So Gnome's reveal was a big surprise.

With Medusa, I feel like I know the voice, but I can't figure out who it is. And the spoiler sites get worse every season, so they're a waste of time. Somebody like Phoebe Bridgers, an alt-pop/rock kind of artist.

How did everyone else enjoy episode one?

I still don't like the format but at least they are throwing in 3 saves. We will see how well that works. I wonder if the panel does have some sort of advance warning about celebrities who would like to be on multiple episodes or those who are fine with 1 or 2 episodes. I would think that the format is setup this way for celebrities who think a short run would be fun but might not necessarily want to do the whole season. I'm just guessing at that.

Gnome is one of my favorite all time reveals. I couldn't figure out who he was but was happy to see him. Not at the level of Nicole crying but who else gets that over the top? ;)

I did not get Mustang but that is one of my weaker areas of music. I dabble in songs from that genre but don't really know a lot.

I feel like I should know who Medusa is too but I can't place it.

I started watching the Night Court reboot and it's ok but I don't feel invested in it. Melissa Rauch (Big Bang Theory) is supposed to be Harry's daughter and wants to continue his work at Night Court as a way to honor him after his death. I feel like they are trying to hard to recreate the original Night Court dynamic instead of creating something different. Melissa can't pull off the Harry vibe and they really should have tried to write an original personality for her. Dan's return is the only part about this I liked because they pull him in as the public defender. He shows personal growth over the years but is still the Dan we remember.

I’ve been watching the Night Court reboot as well. I think Melissa Rauch is a pretty good actress, or at least she did a great job on Big Bang Theory, but I don’t think she’s particularly good in this role. John Larroquette back as Dan is the only real draw for me. I watch them on Peacock when I just want around a half hour of TV before going to bed.

I was really disappointed in the premiere of The Company You Keep. I like so many of the actors, but I found the story fell flat and I didn’t think the chemistry was there between any of the cast.

Johnny and Tara had a guest appearance on the Night Court reboot (episode 7). Apparently the whole court thinks they are America's treasure and were thrilled to meet them.

Now for Masked Singer, I'm on a roll. I guessed 2 out of 3 this last episode. Night Owl was very obvious to me because young me was fascinated by her. She wasn't that much older than me when she became famous.

Rock Lobster was easy to guess because a lot of the singing was a more exaggerated talking voice. I recognized it.

I still can't place Medusa but feel like I should. She has a tendency to scream instead of sing when she's trying to put emphasis on certain notes. So I am thinking professional singer but not a great one.

I was really disappointed in the premiere of The Company You Keep. I like so many of the actors, but I found the story fell flat and I didn’t think the chemistry was there between any of the cast.

Wow, I really liked it. And I was hoping not to. I have too many shows that I'm following, so I decided to see what I could cross off of my viewing list. This was before I watched The Company You Keep and as the show progressed, I thought, "well, this one's not coming off my list". I'm very interested to see how things progress between the two leads. I love his family. I love the family storyline and it intersects with the romantic storyline. And how her career will be at odds with his, which is a third interesting storyline. And the surprise visit at the end of the episode just adds an additional layer of interest to this show. Not sure if they can continue to juggle all of this as well as I thought they did in episode one, but I'm definitely in for this show. :cheer: :cheer2:
