I was a flower girl at 3.5 years old for my godmother's wedding (in the US). I actually still remember large portions of the ceremony and reception, and everyone including the bride was pleased with how I did. I don't remember if my dress fit perfectly, but I do remember being really happy wearing it, and the pictures look fine. I was an exceptionally serious child who took instructions to heart, which is why my godmother felt comfortable including me in the wedding party. On the other hand, my SIL wanted my at the time not quite 2 year old and very energetic son to be a ring bearer, and I knew that would have been an utter catastrophe. So it can be done, but I think it just depends on the child and the expectations for the ceremony.Honestly, they were all nuts to think a 3 year old should be in a wedding party. Is that common in Britain?
ETA in pulling up some photos of the flower girl dresses, I saw that Kate was wearing a white suit. I always thought it was etiquette for only the bride to wear white. Is that considered copacetic in the UK? Or she gets a pass because only Meghan can be considered rude and boorish?
