3 Senior men are listed in the SP starting order: Joonsoo Kim (did not compete last season), Joseph Klein & Daniel Martynov (WD from a JGP last year & did not enter any U.S. qualifying competitions), plus Taira Shinohara in Junior.
Women in ISP listed in Senior SP starting order: Warne-Jacobsen, Hawk, Lofton, Cheng; Adele Zheng in Junior group A (her first comp. of season, IIRC).
As @Karen-W has mentioned in the U.S. Pairs thread in GSD, Laiken Lockley & Edoardo Caputo are a new Senior team (he previously competed for Italy); ditto for Isabelle Martins & Aaron Felberbaum in Junior (he is new to pairs & they WD from Skate Detroit in July).

I assume this is open to the public? Does anyone know if there's an admission fee (I couldn't find anything the SCNY website)?

From page 5 of the MidAtlantics' competition announcement that's linked from the club's event page: https://www.thescny.org/index.php/mids
ADMISSION: Each competitor will receive one (1) competitor’s pass, one (1) chaperone pass and one (1) pass for his or her coach, as named on the entry form. There will be a small admission fee for all other admissions; proceeds go to the SCNY Scholarship Fund.
I hope you can go! :)

And the live results seem to have gotten stuck. 20 minutes after Isabeau's score came up, still waiting for the last two. :-(

29.77 for Lockley/Caputo at Greater Chicagoland. Rough first outing. 😬 Well, it's early days. I'm just so happy she's found a partner, I hope it's onward and upward from here!

I was wondering if the competition was halted due to accident…heaven forbid. We’ll find out soon enough.

rough skate for Lindsay- good to get that out of the way early in the season. I like the program for her. Isabeau's jump technique still looks wonky but less wonky than before? The two of them look like they've both gotten taller. (I no longer am in the NJ/NY area so they look tall all at once to me in these videos)

St Moritz news: C’mon, Kate Wang!!! She had a rough SP yesterday (including a fall) & is in 4th. Sending her positive vibes for a lovely clean free skate. 🙏 🙏 🙏
#upagain!

Of course, I also wish clean skates for Alena Budko (current 1st place), Maryn Pierce (2nd) & Elizabeth Hong (3rd)! But I’m cheering loudest for Kate!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Mixed bag in Pairs today.

Junior pairs - really solid showing from Williams/Lewer at Skate St Moritz, and good improvement for Church/Church at Greater Chicagoland, but Martins/Felberbaum have a lot of work to do, I suspect, to even qualify for Nationals (depending on what the USFS sets for the TES mins).

Senior pairs - probably not the showing Digerness/Sadusky were hoping for (about 8 points lower than their Colorado Cup score), and the scores for Romero/Ogren and Lockley/Caputo make me think they aren't likely to qualify for Nationals.

Don’t TES minimums only apply to the senior events?
Not sure. The NQS document only says that TES minimums are still under discussion.

There are only 10 junior pairs teams that have competed in the NQS, so who knows what the USFS will do. We might not know for sure until after the NQS Pairs Final.

Looking at L/C's protocols, I'm guessing this is a very, very new pairing. Maybe they shouldn't have had them competing just yet.

I believe Lockley/Caputo had to compete here in order to advance to the U.S. Pairs Final, November 8-11 in Lansing, MI. They likely had planned to leave out the twist in both programs, and 2 of their lifts are marked * in their FS.

Kate Wang did it! 🥳 Pulled up from 4th to 1st, winning the St Moritz NQS event. Budko 2nd.

Hope that Kate’s total score of 160.81 keeps her in the mix for future competitions.

Kate Wang was great today at Skate St Moritz. She had an awkward moment at the beginning, took her position, then looked at her coach, got spooked that she might be in the wrong spot, moved places, and then her coach told her to go back to where she was. Then was quite wonderful as soon as she got set and the music began.

Budko had some jump problems, but I quite like her skating and choreography.

Maryn Pierce's SP to "Cold Hearted Snake" by Paula Abdul is so much fun, but some of her expression seems a bit rehearsed. Just a nitpick, otherwise it's so close to being excellent.

I also really liked Milena Markin, beautiful programs and great presence. Not the tech of the top skaters, but I don't mind that.

Digerness & Sadusky had a fall (just her) right after the twist. He caught her, but she fell on the set-down. Somehow I think she ended up with a cut on her head (very close to her eye) from the fall. Or maybe she sustained the cut later, I'm really not sure. I didn't notice the cut until the very end. They seemed okay physically, although he especially seemed very upset afterwards. Some good moments despite the accident.

Williams & Lewer seem to have a solid and supportive partnership. They lean on each other and support each other through the mistakes. I hope they continue to grow.

Michael Xie was very happy after his FS yesterday. Maybe the first one with two triple Axels? Just guessing, I don't memorize all the protocols.
