I don't believe Anne's children were entitled to be prince/princess as they are not male line descendants. Their father turned down an earldom, I think?I know that King Charles has advocated for a pared down royal family. Queen Elizabeth has four children who all have children. Only Charles and Andrew's children are referred to as "prince or princess". I believe Princess Ann chose not to have her children be known by that title. Prince Edward's daughter, who apparently has always held a special play in her grandparent's hearts, is known as Lady Louise Windsor. She was styled after a child of an earl, rather than a prince, with the HRH distinction. This happened under the Queen's watch so not anything new.
The Queen offered to make her eldest grandson Peter Phillips a Prince and Anne said no.I don't believe Anne's children were entitled to be prince/princess as they are not male line descendants. Their father turned down an earldom, I think?
Edward was supposedly in line to be Duke of Edinburgh after his parents passed away, though that should not change how Lady Louise is styled. I assume James will then be known as Earl of Wessex rather than Viscount Severn.
I can't see anyone being stripped of titles and styles they already hold, but certainly fewer working royals and a new letters patent with fewer people entitled to be princes and princesses going forward.

Given that Charles has talked about slimming down the monarchy since before Harry and Meghan got married, I don't think so. What anyone would make of it should he do it is beyond his control but no one could credibly claim that it's racist or because the children are biracial or whatever else since it would have been a long time coming. There has been speculation that Harry and Meghan have been told he intended to do precisely that, because otherwise their complaints during the Oprah interview and other media about Archie’s title don’t make sense. Harry would have known all along that if his children were born while the Queen was still alive they wouldn’t be princes and princesses until she died. It shouldn’t have been a surprise to him (and he should have been able to explain it to Meghan). So perhaps Charles does intend to issue a new Letters Patent removing their titles, although that does feel like it would be the nuclear option right now in terms of his relationship with H&M.
Probably not in the UK. But Denmark currently has a queen, and Sweden, Belgium, Spain and the Netherlands should have queens in most of our lifetimes (and Norway for at least some FSUers). It just seems so surreal. I’d never thought of how extremely unlikely it is that any of us will live to see another Queen.
It was extremely unlikely that we had Queen Elizabeth II in the first place. It just seems so surreal. I’d never thought of how extremely unlikely it is that any of us will live to see another Queen.
What a wonderful example of duty and service she set. A well deserved rest indeed.
Margrethe II, for the last 50 years. Not so shabby. But Denmark currently has a queen,
I thought Queen Elizabeth had a lot more dogs, but had also heard she was getting away from “pure” Corgis, so it must be the Dachshunds that were mixed in, interesting combo to Dorgis? Of course they are all going to be taken care of, perhaps broken up to several caretakers, but they were among the Queen’s prized possessions, I am sure there are takers

Hmmm that’s not my memory of it … but it was a LONG time ago too. Do you remember the year? I remember being annoyed because the coins weighed my wallet/purse down more lol. This is the same for Canada as well.
There is always a deadline announced for the switch. After such time, stores won’t accept the money but banks will.
It is always a 18-24 month timeframe for the changes.
Canada has decommissioned the one dollar bill, the two-dollar bill, the penny and switched from paper bills to plastic bills all in the past 25 years or so.
More about the funeral & who’ll attend or might attend.

Images be what a diplomatic nightmare it could be, with various entourages flying in and out!
It was around the time of Mr O'Connell's 30th wedding anniversary and he told Queen Elizabeth he had not been as nervous since the day he got married. She pointed to a monk fish on the ice in front of her and enquired what it was.
"In Cork, we call that the mother-in-law fish," he replied.
Queen Elizabeth threw her head back in laughter; Mr O'Connell relaxed and he laughed too.
The National Memorial Service will be held at my parish church, Christ Church Cathedral, on the same day as the funeral. We also hosted the memorial service for Prince Philip - at that time there were lockdown conditions in place so the body of the church was empty. This time the church will be full but by invitation only.My city - the parliament buildings in Ottawa ..

(the building is under a massive construction) but it’s still beautiful).
His colleague from Scotland who was with him on the trip said he was looking forward to letting the London shopkeepers know that they had to take his Scottish notes.![]()
I have no idea but thought it was so funny considering the discussion here on FSU.They don’t have to accept them, even if they accept cash otherwise.
