Are there plans to telecast the full show (regular TV) eventually?

Uhh…the silence is deafening, LOL!

Not even on a lazy Sunday afternoon in August?

IIRC, the full show has never been televised in recent years - there used to be an hour of highlights to get people to buy tickets but I can't remember the last time it happened. This is why I'm posting so many links to fan cam videos from different shows - for those who'd like to attend in person but can't for whatever reason.
Something popped up that I want to ask, as I don't always read all the threads all the way through, so may not be update to date.
This years cast is great, but I realized, other than Mirai - it is all folks who competed this past year.
Are the Shibs and Adam not touring? Bradie? Ashley retired? Jeremy Abbott? Meryl & Charle?
Belatedly replying to @smurfy: The post-Olympics SOI tours prioritize showcasing the most recent Olympic team members. Twelve of the sixteen 2022 U.S. Olympians were invited to tour full-time this year, with Hawayek/Baker invited to the last 7 shows and Cain-Gribble/LeDuc to 1 show (San Jose before their recent WD announcement).

Being an IMG client helps (Mirai Nagasu is still one - ETA - plus she's been able to get several triples back after recovering from hip surgery :respec:). Davis/White, Abbott and Wagner were among those who skated in the U.S. SOI holiday mini-tour in December 2021.

Charlie White is busy coaching these days (his Michigan Ice Dance Academy officially launched in Canton, MI earlier this year).

Abbott is still actively performing in shows -- the Skating Club of San Francisco's gala tomorrow night and the Ice Dreams tour that resumes next weekend in DE/CT/MA.

Wagner has started taking her "Skate & Sculpt" classes around the country.

The Shibutanis last performed with SOI in 2019 but haven't skated together publicly since Maia's surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on her kidney in December 2019 (she announced she was cancer-free as of October 2020).

Rippon is focusing on building a career in the entertainment industry and hasn't performed since the 2018 SOI tour (except for some videos filmed by OIP's Jordan Cowan).

Hopefully Bradie has been busy preparing for her return to competition next season.

^^^ LOL that the Nathan sighting was posted here first?
Apparently, Brandon has adopted a "penguin son" (a Beanie Baby) named Waddles and has created its own IG account: https://instagram.com/waddlewithwaddles
ETA more about Brandon's "pet" in this article to promote Sunday afternoon's Pittsburgh show :):

Chock/Bates Q&A ahead of the Detroit show on Saturday:

Karen was interviewed to help publicize tonight's Cleveland show:

I caught a glimpse of Evan wearing a Cleveland baseball cap in one of Karen's IG stories last night - fingers crossed that the full cast will be able to perform (safely) tonight/this weekend.

He's sick, he's not sick, he's sick, he's not sick -- I feel like I'm getting whiplash. I'm glad if he's feeling better now, but I just hope he doesn't push himself too hard too soon.

Well, since my mom and I are driving up to Detroit tomorrow to see the show, I'm very glad to hear that Nathan will be skating after all. That would have been a huge bummer to travel all that way and not see him at all (although I would totally understand if he was sick....it still would have bummed me out). Hopefully we get to see everyone in the show tomorrow night!

BTW-I won't be home until Sunday so I will post a review when I get back. I'm looking forward to seeing it! :cheer:

Chock/Bates Q&A ahead of the Detroit show on Saturday:

OK, I'm gonna asked the obvious question after reading this article, when did Madi and Evan get engaged?! I know I've been busy and haven't gotten to read stuff as much on here lately but I can't imagine how I would have missed that news, LOL

I don't think they have officially (yeah, we would have seen photos ;) ) but they've mentioned in recent interviews that they are planning to get married when they are finished competing so I guess the writer took some liberties. :) The writer was also wrong about Madi repping the Ann Arbor club in comp...Evan does but she has always repped her CA club, All Year.

I saw that they started dating in 2011 - don't quote me though.

From this People article during the Olympics (Feb. 13):
As for what's next in their personal lives? The pair — Chock in her third Games, Bates in his fourth — are already leaving Beijing with at least one Olympic medal. They say there's no set date for wedding bells.
And even though Bates hasn't proposed yet, they talk over certain details. Just in case.
"We just like to discuss where we might like to have it," Chock says.
"Yeah," says Bates, "we're like, 'Oh, that's a nice venue, let's do some research there.'"

Article before the Sunday 5/8 Pittsburgh show:
That’s why Sunday’s show is more than just a Mother’s Day present but a gift for all who love this one-of-a-kind sport.
That doesn’t surprise Chen.
He believes the ongoing attraction to figure skating is the fact that “it’s sport and art combined and is such a unique way of packaging the two.”
He certainly proved that when he mesmerized the world in February with his dominating Olympic performance in Beijing.
“You can’t even imagine what it feels like. It’s amazing to have this opportunity,” Chen said then. It “absolutely” lived up to his dreams of what earning gold might feel like, he assured. [...]
As for Nathan Chen’s future, he says, “This sport is so unique to each individual skater. There’s always room for improvement and growth. I plan on returning to college and then deciding my future from there.”

Jason Brown's "Sinnerman" from last weekend (Pittsburgh maybe? can anyone ID the arena?):
Playlist of SOI videos/clips from the same show: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEo6-kOz8hXd_J2-eEJbIm3AdjeSFPHHH

Massimo Scali choreographed Nathan's "Space Song" according to this fan's tweeted translation:

Re. Vincent's SOI programs: https://figureskatersonline.com/new...s-on-ice-experience-after-up-and-down-season/
In the show, Zhou is performing his “Vincent” by Josh Groban short program, along with debuting a new program to “Lonely” by Illenium & Chandler Leighton. Illenium is Zhou’s favorite artist. After he posted his Instagram video about testing positive for COVID at the Olympics, Illenium reached out to him, extending his positive thoughts. Zhou took advantage of that line of communication and asked him for a special music cut, which Illenium obliged. Zhou choreographed the program with Drew Meekins.
Here's a clip of Vincent giving a glimpse of SOI's "cool sleeper tourbus, featuring energizer bunnies Jason and Alysa" (assume this was from an IG Live ot story?) that I came across on Twitter: https://twitter.com/soranbushis/status/1523855272258805760

During the mid-tour break, Alysa went home to hang with friends/family; Mirai attended a women's athlete conference at the Nike campus in Oregon; Mariah visted her dog & family in TX (and coached with her older sister: https://www.instagram.com/p/CdZZsWyLU9E/); ditto Jason with his family in Chicago & Zach with his family in CT; Karen skated with her brother in Canton, MI (https://www.instagram.com/p/CdZQm9yFeAw/); Brandon is golfing in Michigan (tomorrow's show is in Grand Rapids, MI).

ETA:

Jason's IG Live replay now is on the SOI account: https://www.instagram.com/tv/Cdg3_yDJ1c7/
He was a bundle of energy as usual, gave a brief backstage tour & several skaters joined to say hello.

Alysa followed up with her own IG Live & Karen posted "come get ready" about 1.5 hours before show time. :D Alysa mentioned that she wasn't sure she wanted to do shows/tour after this year. One of her goals is to get her driver's license this summer, finally.

Any word on the audience turn-out at the SOI USA tour? Packed? Semi-packed?

Are the venues bigger or smaller than in the old days of glory? If smaller, it sorta dovetails with the next Skate America going to a much smaller venue than in years past…better to have a sold-out smaller venue than spotty audience in a big arena.

Boston was sold out completely. All of the m&g tickets went in all US venues (60 for Boston)

Greensboro was pretty busy for a Wednesday evening, lower bowl full. I have never been to an event there, but I suspect my old stomping grounds of Honda Center in Anaheim will be more packed (I forget when the CA stops are).

I might have missed it but is Mirai wearing Jennifer Kirks costume for one of her numbers? I can't get a clear picture of Mirai wearing it to be certain. https://figureskatingcostumes.tumbl...er-kirk-skating-to-die-fledermaus-for-her/amp

Always has been a beautiful costume if it was. I wish more skaters wore others costumes after some years. Some of the costumes are as memorable as the program itself!
I just got back from the St. Paul show this afternoon and thought the same thing!!!
