Peacock Will Stream All NBCUniversal Coverage Of Beijing Olympics, Including Live Events, Via Premium Tier

All of the figure skating replays on Peacock have been taken down. :cautious: I checked a few other Oly sports and their replays are still up. (Is this seriously b/c of the lawsuit on K/F's music? They weren't in every event.)

The replays are still up on the NBC Olympics website, though.
since they weren't on Peacock, I looked on the NBC Olympic website but I don't see them there either. Or any of the individual skater competition skate videos.

Hmmm, I can see them. Did you scroll down to the bottom? You may have to log in/authenticate through your cable/satellite account.

OK, never mind, when you click on it, the replay doesn't work. WTF?

There is a link to replays which has separate Individual events but no skating specifically. They appear to have full nights of coverage but they are not labeled with the date. What the hell, NBC?!

I was able to watch vids at NBC Olympics previously without any kind of log in.

I don't know why they are taking them away at Peacock. But I also never looked into whether they were going to be available once the Olympics are over. Why they wouldn't be I can't fathom, all the other events are still there.

I noticed that! Grrrr, but I was able to catch the exhibition on the nbc app

I wonder if NBC took the skating down because of the lawsuit over K/F’s music. I have everything I haven’t watched yet recorded on my dvr, but there were some things I also wanted to see without commentary.

Thanks, @sk9tingfan :) - I re-posted your original list in Nathan's fan thread yesterday and video links (including his MSNBC interview) are posted there: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/threads/nathan-chen-fan-thread-2.105575/page-44#post-6217090
Thank you so much, Sylvia. Every time I bring up my Comcast scheduled programs, yet another interview pops up! I'll alert everyone when it is. BTW, for Comcast subscribers, there a full folder of Nathan's most recent skates when you use the search function on your remote.

I just looked through the Olympics section of the Peacock mobile app (I assume the same content is on the web version). The "primetime" broadcast replays look like they have the skating events, except for the night of the FD (time is listed as a little over an hour and it's not mentioned in the description....do they think K/F are ice dancers?). And the tile for the replay has a pic of C/B in their Snake costumes. 🤨

But it looks like they do include the pairs FS in that evening's replay along with the TE night replays.

The FD replay is included in that prime time coverage video. It was only about an hour because of the Super Bowl.

I don't get it. What do they get by taking all the replays and individual skate videos down? There seem to be a bunch of highlight videos where they select the seconds you get to see and tell you how you are supposed to think about it all. Is this all about cultivating their audience for 2026? Do they not want people to think they can watch online videos rather than tune in since the audience was so low this time around?

They've removed all Olympic coverage from Peacock, which does make it seem like they don't want people watching afterwards.

grrr makes me very grumpy 😠

I just wanted to watch some stuff again. Meanies.

I’d be grumpy too…And that’s why I dub/record as it happens and make my own DVDs. I wasn’t gonna chance it…after recording every Olympic fs event since 1980 on a Betamax with wire controller to eliminate the ads and fluff. Yeah, it’s not easy… :)

@BlueRidge The Olympic stuff is still on Peacock but there are no videos of the individual skating events. There are replays of entire evening or daytime broadcasts so you have to fast forward to get to the skating. (Go to Olympics and then Replays)

While the Oly stuff is still there, it appears that all the regular FS vids (4CC, Euros, Nats) have been taken down, meaning figure skating doesn't appear as one of the sports you can select in the (non-Oly) menu. At least when I checked a few min ago. Are they purging K/F? Seriously?

Maybe if they are, they'll put everything back up once they purge it?

Wishful thinking I suppose.

That is going to be a real bummer if they don’t put the older events back up.

This has to be about the K/F thing.
That is just so weird. Its one piece used in one performance of one event, or I guess two. How could that cause them to take down every single Olympic video?

I'm low tech so I don't record things. I only really wanted to watch some again this week.

I dvr’d everything, but there were still somethings I wanted to re-watch without commentary.

Why would they take down Euros? Knierim/Frazer didn't skate there.

That would be a question for Peacock, not me. They didn't compete at 4CC (or the Nats qual series, etc) either. I could see Legal telling them to pull the figure skating channel until everything is sorted out. Or they determine which specific events need editing/muting.

Or maybe this has nothing to do with K/F and some idiot clicked the wrong button. But it does seem odd that every Oly event is available individually except figure skating and the regular figure skating channel disappeared.

I haven't looked but I remember not being able to find figure skating events that were there because they were classified stupidly. Are we totally sure they have been taken down rather than hidden?

Well, figure skating was always in the list of channels (with NFL, NHL, tennis, golf, etc) and now it is not there. If you find the figure skating vids somewhere else, let us know. :)

They are gone. The figure skating hub just has Meddling and Nancy and Tonya doc! Yesterday the other events were there. Arggh. No Nationals, no GP events, no qualifying events, no Olympics except via the NBC primetime replays. Olympic Ice is still there. I think this must be because of that stupid lawsuit. Everyone should write to Peacock, but I can't find a contact page to write to them! We pay for this content and it's not there.

Edited to add that I see a lot of people tweeting Peacock about it at least. Don't see any official response!

Yes, everything figure skating is gone, including the domestic qualifying competitions. I don't even have a figure skating icon anymore, among all the other sports category choices.

I wish Peacock/NBC will give an official explanation, but this has to be an overreaction to the K/F lawsuit. If they are going through every competition video down to Juvenile level to ascertain music licensing before putting back online (or muting audio), that is going to take a long time. And likely we'll permanently llose some of what we had. And what does this portend for Worlds coverage?

Fuming, I am. :angryfire

I was looking for the pairs free skates earlier today because I was traveling and unable to watch them on Saturday although I found the results online. I could only find the NBC prime time broadcast so, of course, didn't get to see all the free skates - just what NBC wanted to show. But in my searches, I was able to locate all the other events, such as the GP events and Nationals. I just couldn't find the Olympic replays.

This is what I am talking about. One person says they are there and another says they are all gone.

I will definitely look around and see if I can find something. We should all look!
