I think she can compete on both and try to make the EF. My understanding is the +1s can compete AA to try and qualify for EF, but their scores don't count for the team.

I could be completely wrong though haha.

I'm not watching the broadcast so don't know what they're saying, but after reading about what's happening, my prediction:
Grace as the fourth team member
Skinner as the +1

I'd prefer Riley but she fell If Grace finishes 4th AA and MyKayla 5th, I think Tom F. won't want to leave MyKayla home.

Called it. Gutted for Riley.

I have to say, for all the talk of 'the computers are figuring out the strongest team' talks, Grace was the least likely for me out of the trio but maybe they are rewarding the one who got 4th place here with a 'locked up gold medal' in mind. She's only offering a small bit more potential in vault and floor (which she may not even participate).

I'm not mad at it, Wong is actually probably my favorite but I thought every sign pointed to Skinner so I'm

I think the individual gymnasts can do the AA in the prelims if they want. Jade Carey can too - but she probably won’t.

I don't see Skinner getting to the finals over Jade.

Add in the rhythm and trampoline athletes, and they'll need a whole plane charter just for gymnastics.

GRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, not gonna lie.....I started crying the minute I saw her standing off to the side with the team! I AM SO HAPPY FOR HER!!

Happy that Skinner gets to go to Tokyo after all that she's been through and who knows...maybe she will make the VT final!

Aww, I'm glad that they're interviewing the other gymnasts now after already interviewing Suni and Simone earlier tonight. I wish they had done that with the men last night!

I have always been aware that there were individual competitors. In the past weren't they just for countries that couldn't field a team? When did they change it so individuals could qualify in countries that did field a team. and why?
