Maria Artemieva (also knows as TM1) and Roman Usatov became parents a month ago. Both have been coaching at Rukavitsin’s rink.
Also, apparently Usatov was Andrei Mozalev’s first coach

I totally agree. I think she should have come 2nd in the short as well.I'd watch Anna Frolova over the Eteri girls any day.
She has a nice carriage reminiscent of Deanna Stellato and Laura Lepisto (more apparent in the SP).
Elegant, uncluttered skating and choreography.
That TAT’s comment actually made me laugh. What an objective one coming from someone’s loving GodmotherSo Tarasova is not so subtly saying Khudaierdieva/Bazin are winning because their coach is a technical specialist
One question. Is Bazin still copying winner's choreography? That to me is kinda cheating on the PCS. I did not look up and compare in this case but I have in other cases. If this time it is legit theirs then I think it was great and marks well deserved although I am more partial towards Morozov/BaginSo Tarasova is not so subtly saying Khudaierdieva/Bazin are winning because their coach is a technical specialist
Frolova is becoming a much better skater, now that she left Panova and joined a much stricter and more regimented training school of Davydov. Good for her for making this switch.I totally agree. I think she should have come 2nd in the short as well.

Well my eyes watched the event this weekend and Khuda and Bazin were much better in the RD and while it was closer in the FD I would still give them the edge over Morozov and Bagin (who are way overscored in general imo). Not surprising: Khuda and Bazin are good (and Khuda certainly presents well on the ice) but anyone with eyes who watched the Russian test skates could have seen that Morozov and Bagin were better!
I think it is exactly the other way round. The FD Morozov and Bagin did was breathtaking! I’m surprised more people have not been talking about it here. My guess though is that some people on this board are going to pre-judge them b/c they don’t like the father. But that isn’t right. Morozov and Bagin are their own skaters/people—and, I think their FD at the test skates was one of the highlights of that event.

I wonder why bother to ‘officially announce’ when she has not been competing since October 2018?Not surprising, but Elena Radionova officially announced her retirement. Here’s a long interview with her (in Rus)
"Я выжала максимум": откровенное интервью Елены Радионовой
Бронзовый призер чемпионата мира 2015 года, первая в истории двукратная чемпионка мира среди юниоров Елена Радионова откровенно побеседовала с Анатолием... РИА Новости Спорт, 22.09.2020rsport.ria.ru
Maybe because of the recent Sotskova’s case? Just to make it clear to everyone?I wonder why bother to ‘officially announce’ when she has not been competing since October 2018?
I don’t think she needs to make it clear to ‘everyone’. All she needs is to make sure that her official paperwork has been done. As we haven’t heard about her doping, I think it should be safe to assume that her paperwork indicates she is retired. (Or she doesn’t mind having regular drug tests and has not taken any diuretics yet).Maybe because of the recent Sotskova’s case? Just to make it clear to everyone?
I found them a bit odd. They are zooming across the ice because of open unimaginative choreography and then they stop in the middle to do ultra fast miming while copying several P/C lifts. They have good speed but the hype around them is pathetic. Is everyone so desperate to retire the ailing top teams who are getting up in age?I think it is exactly the other way round. K/B were much better than M/B
I thought their flow and lean in and out of moves and even their plain skating across the ice was so fast but seamless & the choreography was very good so to me the skate was exceptional. I also liked Khuda and Bazin but I am not sure about her smile....seriously...it was turning me off. I don't know what the characters they were playing were all about so maybe it is some acting that is above my head.Well, it’s a subjective sport—and that’s why we love it. But I was very moved by the Morozov/Bagin FD and did not think their RD was bad either—I thought they showed good musicality in both and the way they seemed to carve their blades through the ice looked pretty advance to me. Not dissing on Khuda and Bazin, though—they seem lovely (first time I’ve actually heard of them) but I still would not have marked them ahead—even in the RD. But what do I know? I’m certainly not a technical specialist, just a fan.

That’s from a different competition, not from the Russian cup.Sofia Akatieva wins Russian Cup I - here is her FS (3A and Quad/with hand)
And they just posted on the German fs fb-group that Zagitova has switched alreadyTeam Tutberidze posted a screenshot of Rudkovskaya's Facebook chat with Zagitova (where Rudkovskaya's message says "Alinochka, Evgeny and me are waiting for you at our new rink opening" with Zagitova responding "Thank you, but I'll stay with Eteri Georgievna") with a caption "Nobody is poaching anyone, right?"
