Thanks so much for sharing @sk8pics! I didn't expect it to, but this video brought tears to my eyes, even before MK began wiping away tears in response to Gracie's poignant thank you letter. That cute, old picture of Gracie as a young girl meeting MK (her hero) at a COI event, is priceless.

I remember in the 90s and 2000s feeling like a freak for being such a fan of figure skating and Michelle Kwan. Thanks to social media and the Internet and seeing the young skating generation who have been very open with their admiration of her, it’s nice to see so many others she touched.

Wow I loved this. I loved Michell saying "it's just ice skating." I think everyone in the skating world needs to have that constantly drilled in their heads. When I hear about parents turning a blind eye to abusive coaches and the eating disorders and other issues that plague the sport, people need to remember this. "It's just ice skating."

My favorite part was when Gracie spoke about how despite everything she was going through, it was the actual skating that reminded her why she loved it. I think a lot of that gets lost when skaters are under so much pressure to be the best that it’s easy to forget that what they loved first and foremost was the skating itself.

Kwan is not only Gold's idol, they both shared the same coach.

Watching Michelle react to Gracie's statement about being mad at skating is quite telling.

I'm glad that Gracie had friends and role models to turn to, though of course I wish for her sake that it could have happened sooner.
