Glamour Puss thread: Sephora, I wish I could quit you...

PL has inspired me to try false lashes again. I bought the Ardell Magnetic 110 and it’s fairly easy to apply. Unfortunately it’s a little too big. I would cut it but then I lose an edge magnet.

I also got regular ones and practicing. So far not too bad.

My biannual trip to Sephora was yesterday, and it ended up over $300 even trying to be frugal. Of course, almost half that was the Dr Gross pads and YSL Touche Eclait foundation, which I’ve settled on as the best.

I’ve lost my Rouge status and am sort of determined not to get it back when I return to the US. I figure if I lived in Israel with fewer products, I can do so here as well. But I’m probably kidding myself....

Has anyone else heard rumours of a VIB sale this spring?

I have no idea when. I didn't even realize they had a spring sale. Lol!

I want to get the Anastasia Beverley Hills Soft Glam eyeshadow palette. But have been waiting until my finances improve in a couple of months.

May splurge if there is a sale.

In other news, Becca just made the Rose Quartz highlighter permanent.

It is one of my favourites and I am running out so good news for me. :cheer2:

I am running out of my Champagne Pop highlighter, should I consider it instead? I only use liquid ones, no powder anything for me on the face, only the eye shadow.

Pretty sure they don't have it in the liquid/creme formula yet.

I normally only use powder highlight.

The liquid/creme ones don't seem to last very long on me.

Rose Quartz is a warm pink powder.

I love it because it works on me when I'm pale and when I'm tanned.

All right, kittens. I have joined Rent the Runway Unlimited. (First month is $99) This gives you four pieces at a time, and you can swap out or keep them for as long as you want. I got two pairs of pants, and gray cardigan that I am mainly intrigued to try because it retails for over $1000 :P and then a super obnoxious gray sweater with giant fuzzy hot pink pockets. I will post pictures on Instagram.

Maybe. If they aren't totally hideous. :glamor:

I could never use it :drama: I am too short and I get everything hemmed and taken in and I can't with rented clothes. Let us know how you like it!

Can somebody help me? I remember someone posted about a makeup company some time back, and everyone was buying their eyeshadows because they were really reasonably priced, and you could buy them all individually. People were buying them directly from the company's website. I want to buy some for my sister for her birthday, but I can't remember the name of the company.

Maybe Makeup Geek? They sell single-pan eyeshadows.

MAC single-pan eyeshadows are all $6 also. You need to get a palette to put either of those brands in.

Do you find that the Touche Eclait oxidizes on you? Usually I use their primer, and I don't think it does. But the other day I used another primer I have and I feel like it oxidized on me. Or it could have been just me imagining things...

I’ve been using the Lancôme Hydroglow primer for years. So far, so good

I’m going to the us for a conference from Canada and gong to hit up ulta. Anyone have any ulta exclusive recommendations?

Check out the Laura Gellar makeup line as it's something difficult to get in Canada and has some interesting stuff.

Becca often has different stuff than at Sephora such as their Skin Perfecting Pressed Highlighter in the shade Lilac Geode.

Same with Benefit. They have two sets out now that are exclusive to ULTA. One is a bronzer, blush, highlighter set and the other is a set of mini blushes.

Tarte Shape Tape concealer is not at Sephora.

They sometimes have great drugstore brands that are hard to find in Canada such as Catrice and Essence.

I love the minis section/gift section at ULTA.

Also if you like bath products ULTA has a fabulous selection of bath bombs etc.

You will enjoy ULTA. Give yourself time to explore.

ETA. This question is timely as I spend a hour last night looking at ULTA's website. My parents are in the US for two weeks and my mom texted me last night and asked me to let her know asap what I wanted her to bring me back from ULTA.

I asked for the mini blush set from Benefit and IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Neutralizing Creme.

you're the best. thank you!

I have been using Sephora Outrageous Curl mascara & I really like it. So far it hasn't clumped or flaked & I really like the small wand which I think makes application much easier. I just wish it came in brown as well as black.

Speaking of mascara, I decided to try the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara because my eye lashes look amazing and the volume and length was off the charts. Unfortunately, I feel like I end up with dark circles under my eyes at the end of the day so I think I’ll go back to Dior’s Iconic Overcurl.

Okay, so I got my first shipment from Rent the Runway. $1100 sweater is really nice and comfortable and well made, but I can't for the life of me figure out what makes it $1100. It has thumbholes, which is freaking awesome, but that's still not worth that much.

The vest with the pink fuzzy pockets is amazing. I can't wait to wear it tomorrow.

Oh, and the two pairs of pants? Don't fit. And I went a size up from my normal size. :yikes:

Diet started today. :P

J-Lo's Makeup Line

Has anyone seen any of the colors for Jennifer Lopez's new makeup collection with Inglot? Here's a link to the announcement that I saw. The line launches on April 26. And, I gotta say, I am dying to see the highlighter shades. I don't even wear highlighter, but since the collection will be limited edition, and nobody "glows" quite like she does, I'm going to have to check it out!

Sorry for late reply....but I find the foundation both stays put and keeps its color. I use the Warm Honey shade, I could probably get away with the neutral in that tone but I like the slight bronzing effect.

In other news, Sephora informed me I have regained my VIB status. :shuffle:

Former Dior Star users, have you found anything that gives the same dewy look?
