IOC's decision: (clean) Russian athletes can compete under neutral flag at PyeongChang Olympics

nah, China is much more powerful and richer. They can talk moneywise and have economic influence. No way will they even ban China if there is state sponsored doping evidence. Although its clear China is engage in even bigger manipulations.

China is the Most Powerful country of the 21st century, They have the EU and US by the balls, WADA would be shitting if they ever do such a thing.
And China is also not considered ‘the enemy number 1’. I don’t expect them to do anything to China no matter what.

Do you actually read it after yourself? Can you honestly say that you are happy with this? So according to the same strategy, all Germans should have been short after the war? Even the innocent ones, who have never harmed anyone? Because a casualty of war deserve this? A girl who was 11 at the time of the Russian doping deserves this?

How about we don’t compare shooting innocent people with someone not being able to see their country’s flag or hear their anthem on the podium?

And for the record Germany and Japan were both barred from the 1948 Olympics.....

I watched Icarus via Netflix last week, and tonight it won the Oscar. So happy for the film!
I’ve come to the conclusion that unless they actually deal with the systemic state sponsored doping then just don’t bother with anti doping, let everybody dope. Seriously we know all the cyclists have done it for years. Now proof that all state sponsored Russian athletes willingly or unwillingly doped what’s the point? I really enjoyed Icarus, yet saddened by the realities of it.

Yeah all the tough talk by the IOC was just bullshit. Russia got to compete at the Olympics and didn't learn anything because they weren't really punished. Someone like a Putin needs to feel real pain to get the message.

The problem is health-related. Doping long-term does nothing to one's body and nobody would be willing to be pointed out as the culprit to these deaths and illnesses.

There was even a documentary (I saw it) about how some cyclists could cheat with mini motors installed in their bikes. Really, just enough to give them a boost.

Slap on the wrist end result does not surprise me in the slightest

Make sure you guys communicate that clearly to Stolbova and Bukin. I'm sure they'll be delighted to know that it was a "slap on the wrist" and "no real punishment".

PREACH IT.
Literally, they allowed over 150 athletes to compete except for the one Russian I actually wanted to see (I'll give you a hint, she's fierce as heck and her initials are K.S.). The world is conspiring against me.

If you read my previous posts you would have read my thoughts on the figure skaters who weren't able to go but sure take one post and run with it.

But then if collectively Russia didn't cheat and weren't proven cheaters... they would have been there

:shuffle:

So you're claiming they're also cheaters?

This is purely about money with regards to Russia.
They have money and are willing to spend it.
I expect another games there in the next decade or so.
They will continue to dupe and get away with it.
I know other athletes and countries dope, but you won’t convince me it’s at the same level or state sponsored like Russia, and I sadly expect China too.
It makes me harken back to the hilarious SNL skit about the “All drug Olympics “
Maybe that’s the solution.

So they should be left out only because they were Russian?

They got left out because Russia was under investigation for cheating. Please feel free to read this entire thread... we have circled around and around.

Then feel free to comment again. :D

Why specifically them? I don't have a clear answer, do you?
