Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir # 47: Come What May...

I don't know French but maybe it's this video? It's an interview with Dominick Gauthier from B2ten with Radio Canada which he linked to in his twitter profile. https://jeuxolympiques.radio-canada...inion-des-athletes-deplore-dominick-gauthier/

On another note: Any Brit here who can help me out? I really wonder why there hasn't been a video with the B ESP commentators? Did they comment and there just isn't a video online yet or didn't they comment the team event?
It is not that one. That one is about the ladies slope style going ahead in dangerous weather conditions...I will look for the other one since I am in Canada and speak French somewhat well.....

I just read about an interview with the cofounder of B2ten and it's very interesting:

Now I'm even more proud of their mental strength and I really want a book about everything that happened during their career and especially during that Sochi season.

Hmm I'm in agreement with those saying it might have been lost in translation. Only because after all B2ten is a business and isn't there a sort of client confidentiality on such matters? It would be more prudent of them to ,well, not expose any information that would make future clients be wary acquiring their services and of confiding sensitive information.

But yes, based on documentary, I do admire that there is also a team support in helping athletes cope with psychological stress associated in being in a professional sport.

And how cool is this: Korean fans made a banner for the SD and FD which everyone interested can pick up at the gate https://twitter.com/fslove08/status/963303179797413889 They really have the best fans.

Much love from Korean fans :)

All post with regards to skating, yes! They can do better (and will probably will before IE!) I'm also with you posters on some of the things you all point out in their program that made/could be it better.

I also think the opening was not as sharp, the part where she is spinning and he is circling around her. Also the final lift was much better at Nationals.
Sometimes it looks as though she may have spun a little too much before that sudden "ta da dum" sound hits so there's little time to set up before Tessa's flick movement. I see it on occasion in practice vids. I say, Nationals was where they hit all the moves at the right point and with the music.

The team SD dress looks Egyptian not Latin to me...
That's what my daughter said too! after she finished watching the SD at the Team event. We both liked her original SD dress. (or at least if IE is different, along the lines of the original dress. The cut elongates her arms and figure) For FD too. Minimal look and just-right with the colour. Scott too. (I'm not saying it was awful. Just felt the colour was a bit too dark and "heavier". Like Sochi, I hope it's just for the Team Event). Don't be hating. It's just our personal taste :p

The short dance didn't air live on BESP, maybe it's on the player. I only saw he top three short dances of the team event during a break between the other disciplines.

edit: So I checked my tv box and I still have a copy. Here's what they said:

SD
Called the ending "dramatic" (in a good way) and the sp "spellbinding".

VM are prime form and that another Olympic gold medal is coming their way, because all they had to do was show up in the free dance (lol). They went a long long way to providing [team Canada] with a gold medal. (The commentary for this was recorded in post).

They said was a joy and they got twelve perfect tens in the component scores and rightly so. Need to work on the two key points missed in the rhumba.

A "monster" performance and score. Haven't seen them skate better. Energy level from start to finish was fantastic.

They talk that it could be double gold (says who knows). Say the French will go in as favourites.

FD:
The commentary here was live.

They are untouchable (for gold in the team event) and have been untouchable for a lot of their career.

Calls the FD mesmerising and that they can't imagine that it could be beaten and yet that's a real possibility in the individual comp. Their program and performance is getting better and better and that's the best they have performed it. Believe VM to have the edge in the SD and if they can skate the FD with that kind of emotion it's going to be "mighty close."

They have goosebumps from the incredible emotion and you forget that they are doing technical elements. Sometimes they feel like Scott over does it (emotions-wise) but here it was at its best. The attention to detail in the program is mindblowing.

Take ID (along with PC to a new level) they are way clear of the rest (and the rest are very good still).

You are amazing! Thank you so much!

Is there a link to watch the BESP coverage?
I love hearing them..but can't find it anywhere..

To be clear, the link to the more recent tumblr clearly states that they saw the translation done by the original blogger. The original blogger heard the interview, does not have a transcript.

I would not post any other bloggers repeats of the original tumblr translation to support anything being repeated as fact.

I’m still searching for the Radio Canada interview for the authentic version.

That's not how I read it at all. This blogger is a French-speaking person from Québec, and they're asking if she caught the segment. There's always a chance she could be lying of course, I agree it would be a very unprofessional thing for Gauthier to say. Would V/M really want this whole story rehashed in the media?

What is this about? What did this person say??
