I just read about an interview with the cofounder of B2ten and it's very interesting:

Radio Canada just did an interview with Dominik Gauthier (cofounder of B2ten) and he was talking about Patrick’s struggle this season ans how he’d tried getting in contact with Marina Zoueva. Here’s a rough translation.

Dominik: Marina was Tessa and Scott’s coach in 2014 and literally and emotively destroyed them. It was very hard for them to live with that. I don’t know all the details, but she’s someone you want to stay far away from, and suddenly Patrick Chan wants to train with her. Everyone at Skate Canada was shocked. Tessa and Scott told me they were worried because they were afraid, or at least didn’t want to cross her path in arenas.

So I can’t help but think back to that picture from Twitter. There are shots of Marina standing watching them during their performance and she is stone faced, wearing the American jacket. I thought back to psych out techniques used by some coaches and I have to wonder.

Oleg, however, looks more chill.

Good point. People can interpret a conversation in different ways even in the original language. When a translation comes into the mix, it can turn into a bad case of playing telephone.

Either way, hearing Dominik Gauthier’s original interview would be interesting, given his success with b2ten.

Robin Cousin's true feelings are coming out one broadcast at a time. A direct quote from after they'd finished and his commentating partner was in raptures before setting up the individual battle:

'And what I love most is that every performance is choreographed uniquely- you can switch music sometimes with certain other skaters and the routine would be the same, and it would be brilliant and it would work, but everything they do, every detail of this is designed specifically and only with this music- wouldn't work with anything else, plus technically they are just so incredibly strong'

I'm just loving how loved they are.

They skated well but I think they can skate it even better.

Did anyone notice the subtle blue sequins on Tessa’s dress? Thought that was really cool, almost like a nod to France given they’re skating to MR.

Well this interesting because they have said they’re on good terms with her and weren’t they seen hugging her at some point last season at some event?

Anyway I doubt they trust her after what happened in 2014. It’s a shame they didn’t leave her after 2013 worlds. I was on Meryl Davis’s Instagram page last week and in her story was coverage of her doing work for the local NBC affiliate and they had mentioned her being engaged to Andreev and that they had been dating for 6 years or since 2012. It’s so obvious why Marina wasn’t in their corner.

I would like to hear the interview as well unless it’s in French. I did kind of shake my head when I heard Patrick was going to her but ... they did win in 2010. Those are pretty serious allegations.

They are far happier now regardless of who wins.

OK I have to say this because it's driving me crazy. In their free dance, after the first ROOOXANE, they used to have this quick head movement from left to right and vice versa, perfectly matched to the "ta-dam" of the music. At the beginning of the season, they did that very well and it was, for me, very powerful. The more the dance evolved the more they do this movement quickly and not precisely on the beat, rushing to move on to the next movement, driving people like me crazy. Why miss the chance to work the music?

Re-reading this, I realise how random it sounds. But I had to say it!

I agree, they can skate it better. They got a little too far apart when they separated in their circular step sequence, and not-quite-cunniliftus and the final lift will benefit from more repetitions. But it was gorgeous.

I totally took it as that and my main complaint about P&C. You could super impose their FD's the last 4 years and the choreography would fit all of them.

They are better than their programs. JMHO.

I also think the opening was not as sharp, the part where she is spinning and he is circling around her. Also the final lift was much better at Nationals.

Agree. Her spinning gets a tiny bit wobbly at the end and he waits for to get into position. I yelled at the tv "grind down into the ice Tessa". Haha. She must have heard because they did seem to loosen up a bit. LOL. The nerves must be overwhelming.
