That's my concern. They change from one bad piece of music to another with every season. :wall:
But, there's nothing wrong with the music. It was used quite a bit at US nationals by lower level teams. Apparently, quite a few people found Xtina to be upbeat and fun.

Blatantly ignoring Jeschke (what’s new) and continuing the conversation... ;)

Really. I mean really. Isn't them winning a medal with that program likely to encourage them to keep skating to music choices that don't fit their skating. I want classic Russian pairs skating from the pair that could be the most classic Russian pairs team in many years.

Most classically boring, perhaps. ;) They make Eltsova/Bushkov look like James/Cipres. I’d rather watch them panty drop and cherry pop than their classical or lyrical snot programs which are just devoid of any personality or charisma. At least Candyman makes me laugh (and I maintain the Candyman part of the program is actually quite good and breakneck element after element—things start to get cringey when Morozov unleashes his inner nasty boy). :scream:

I can’t believe Olympics start tomorrow! I’m really not ready and lacking some enthusiasm. I mean I was more excited to watch Challenger Series....somebody help!

Actually Olympics start today :p Ski jumping qualification and some curling matches. I could never understand why they start before the Olympic torch lights up. Not enough time? What would be the problem with making them officially 2 days longer?

Opening Ceremonies on Friday night - seems like the best time to kick off a party - even if some people have to pre-drink a little. ;)

It will be 12 in the morning here, so I will have a long day in front of me. Won't manage to stay awake for the team competition, so will have to catch up afterwards....

I have 3 prepared:
1) TeamGermany
2) Empress
3) Schott

That‘s enough!

No surprises:D Sound great, can't wait to see the special Empress avatar!

I realise I messed up the patriotic predictions, as I never had Norwegian skaters to cheer for. Never. So I have always cheered for everybody, from any country, that took my heart away.

I've been watching skating since 1994. Before Anne Line and Camilla came along, we had Kaja Hanevold who qualified for the FS at Euros twice or something, and that's it. That means around 20 years with no one to cheer for. No one was even sent. They weren't considered skilled enough. And it's true. They weren't. Maybe one triple, on a lucky day.

When Sondre finally qualified for the FS at Euros for the first time in 2015, he was the first Norwegian man to do so since Jan Erik Digernes in 1995. At that time, Sondre wasn't even born yet. In between there was no men, except Michael Chrolenko, who was just around a short time too. No one else.

We haven't had pair skaters since 1969.

We have never had an ice dance couple, except for a few short months in 2015/2016. And Tim Koleto switches partners like Krasnopolski, so I guess it couldn't last anyway.

It's hard being a fan! So I guess I'll keep nourishing my Japanese, French, German, Russian and American roots....D

He married his latest partner, so maybe this time it'll last/

Olympic skating starts in less than 6 hours!! Though I must say this team event kinda sucks but I'll watch for the crazy K&C reactions. Hope Bobrova takes it to another level and get imaginative for the OAR team.

I just want to see Bruno being all calm and in control. And if the :glamor: wants to do that stupid 3A she does it here where it really doesn't matter and comes to her senses when it does. Fifth Olympics with her 3rd partner. If there was an International HOF for figure skating, the woman should be the first inductee.

We do have a #TTW member participating today: Go Han Yan. Make @pinky166 proud.

Then go BabyRizzo. Bring that bronze medal home, son. It's your only hope for a medal. You. Can. Do. This.

I need to do this thing to gather my thoughts for the next 2.5 weeks. :drama:

Team:

Gold: Hmmm I'm gonna go with OAR because I probably like them best overall. :shuffle: Although I do like the Canadian ladies! Also just realized I'm pretty meh about the whole US team this year with maybe the exception of Rippon. I like all the dancers but none are special favorites.
Medal: I'm on the team who thinks it'd be legendary if Italy managed to snatch the bronze! :kickass:
Fear: Bad skating
Overall: Don't really care that much, my main interest in the team event lies in the fact that I get to see more skating! :cheer:

Men:

Gold: Shoma, Yuzuru or Javi
Medal: Shoma, Yuzuru and Javi :p
Fear: Repeat of terrible skating à la Sochi :yikes:
Overall: Solid programs from Deniss, Jorik, Adam & of course The Aliev :p Would love to see a clean FS from both Shoma and Yuzu or at least one of them...

Ladies:

Gold: The Janny :encore: Or if the world melts down, Carolina :kickass:
Medal: The Janny, Carolina, I don't mind Zagitova but would be great to have a Canadian or Japanese medal too... I could definitely also root for a surprise bronze for Sotskova ;)
Patriotic: Meh :p
Fear: Controversial judging and lots of :argue:, Russians getting booed :(
Overall: Want Craine to make the free! Also Loena, Ivett & Nikitina rockin' those black unitards in the SP! Lots of shots of Tursy's mom behaving like in Helsinki! :encore:

Pairs:
Gold: Either Savchenko or Sui, I love both too much to choose :drama:
Medal: After those two I don't really care about bronze. Whoever skates well enough to deserve it!
Fear: Duhamel/Radford gold :yikes: Although if they earn it then so be it!
Overall: Great skates for Aussies, Czechies, Austrians and Seguin/Bilodeau :cheer2: And both Italian teams! Oh and the North Koreans!

Ice Dance:

Gold: Team G/G :encore:
Medal: If it can't be Cappellini/Lanotte (which it won't) I don't really care who grabs the bronze - let it be the ones who skate best on the night(s)!
Fear: tons of :mitchell: overall on FSU that I won't be able to take :drama:, also V/M winning, crucial twizzle mistakes from anyone
Overall: Want to make the FD so badly: Muramoto/Reed, Min/Gamelin, Nazarova/Nikitin, Hurtado/Khaliavin... Love all their FDs! Also Gilles/Poirier not looking terribly disappointed at their scores. Everyone happy in the K'n'C! :respec:

I just want to state harmonic finn claimed at nebelhorn that our tastes differ very much :p

Obviously we differ not so much, as long as Grm is not involved.
