She qualified a spot for Switzerland in the Olympics at Nebelhorn and now she finishes top 10 at europeans, I would think that surely the Swiss Olympic Committee would send her to Pyongchang. Sure she could use better presentation and work in that area but I thought she did great overall. Is there established criteria from the SOC stipulating if she needed any exact point total or result in order to be sent?

Was she a dual citizen because i can't see how she can skate at the Olympics if she wasn't unless the Swiss hand out citizenship's like candy.

Was she a dual citizen

Google translated excerpt:

Alexia Paganini will represent Switzerland at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang (South Korea) in figure skating. The selection commission of Swiss Olympic has selected the 16-year-old at the request of the Swiss Ice Skating Association. With third place at the traditional Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf (Germany), Paganini won the Swiss quota slot for the Olympic Games in September 2017 and at the same time fulfilled the selection criteria for the Olympic Games of Swiss Olympic. Last weekend, Alexia Paganini took her first title at the Swiss Championships by a wide margin. In September she also won the competition at the Slovenian Open.

Alexia Paganini lives with her parents and two brothers in the state of New York, in the USA. Thanks to her father, who comes from Brusio (Graubünden), she has since birth next to the US and the Swiss citizenship. Several years ago, the family had considered whether the young figure skater should start for Switzerland in the future. After several positive discussions with the responsible persons of Swiss Ice Skating and in agreement with the skating federation of the USA this change came about this year, and Alexia Paganini found at the Winterthurer SC a new sportive home. After the selection of Alexia Paganini at the Olympic Games in PyeongChang, Switzerland will thus be back in figure skating after no Swiss figure skaters participated in the 2014 games in Sochi (Russia).
