Have you ever crushed on a skater?

I’m really impatient for the senior season to start and I realize I haven’t posted on the forum in ages, so I thought I’d create a fun thread to help pass the time.
It’s no secret that my friends SERIOUSLY crush on some skaters, and I’m curious if you ever do/have done the same. Don’t worry, this is a judgment-free zone, so feel free to share!

I like the guys on my list for different reasons; it’s not just about who’s the hottest :) Sadly, I have a bad habit of falling for guys who are either a) gay, b) married to other people, c) attracted to girls who look nothing like me. And usually on top of that, they’re at least 5 years older than me and it would still be illegal for me to date them LOL.

Jason Brown: I literally can’t say a bad thing about him. When he smiles, he just breathes sunshine. Also I really have a thing for guys with well-groomed ponytails, and don’t even get me started on how fine he looks when he gets dressed up…

Eric Radford: But that doesn’t mean I can’t admire good scenery, an interesting personality, and beautiful music.

Andrew Poje: He’s like a fairytale prince. Guess I go for the “tall, dark, and handsome Canadian” type :) But I’m pretty sure he and Kaitlyn are a thing, and I’m not going to break up the happy couple. Onto the next one…

Fedor Klimov: I can’t say he’s naturally my type (I’m not keen on the greased hair and beard) but he’s so nice and well-spoken that he’s got a corner of my heart, I’m not gonna lie. And he cleans up nicely in a good suit.

Max Settlage: We both love drawing and craft supplies, need I say more?

Chris Knierim: I fell in love with him when he teared up talking about Alexa’s surgery. You gotta love a guy who cares about you that much.

There was also a time when Shoma Uno really made my heart flutter, and I had a brief crush on Adian Pitkeev, but I can only crush on so many skaters at once LOL.

In my teens, yes. Back then, Russian junior skaters were THE THING for me and my best friend from those days.
Whereas others crushed on Robbie Williams, Rafael Nadal or Johnny Depp, we were all over Alexander Uspenski, Sergei Dobrin, Andrei Griazev, Andrei Lutai and others .

Many moons ago, when I was a teenager, I had it bad for Kurt Browning. Kurt is about 5 years older than me, which seemed like a lot at the time!

When he married Sonia (who is younger than me) I was all "Darnit! I could have had a chance...." LOL!

My fiancé (now hubby of 19 years) got a good chuckle over it.

I saw the instagram photos of Guillaume Cizeron during his seeming fling with likewise gorgeous Paul Marie Brou and could only imagine all the hot love making sessions they were having :D I guess that's crushing?

Well lets see,...

There's Matteo Guarise.

Then, theres Maxim Trankov. There's also Peter Tchernsheyv. Who wouldn't want that I ask? Theres this guy called Morgan Cipres. Ive also heard of a guy called Alexander Smirnov. Alex Shibutani is right there. Then there is this whopper of a man called Paul Poirier. Also, who could erase from their minds Davidas Vanigas. I wouldnt mind Denis Petrov showing up unannounced. Chris Knierim could come over and talk shop.

Of course there is the Goddess herself, Miss Angela Nikodinov.

Yuzuru Hanyu. its not like i fancy him in the common way. of course he's cute and attractive but its something deep i guess. he's super-human and mysterious, but not like a distant idol. he's thoughtful with quite a brain, and sometimes his competitive appetite makes him look a little scary (i dont mind being a little scared by men^^) he must have a complex personality since he shows contrasting personality traits (just like Yuna). he skates sensually even when he does classic programs,he just has a natural and enigmatic sensuality. he draws you in just by speaking for an interview, his charisma is that strong.
frankly he is beyond impressive and beyond fascinating to me.
Tessa is my idol and you can say i have a girly crush on her and a deep admiration as well. like Yuzuru she is naturally sensual and doesnt need sexy dresses to be hot. at the same time she is not over the top feminine and can be a bit of a tomboy sometimes. yes, i adore her !

Back in the 90s, I used to crush on Evgeni Platov and Mirko Muller. On the ladies side, I remember crushing on Radka Kovarikova and to a lesser extent Marina Klimova.

ETA - Forgot to mention Ingo Steuer and Tanja Szewczenko

All the fine-looking men in my current avatar. Max, Jason and Josh. :)

Javier Fernández - Blessed by the Gods! :smokin:

Andrew Poje – A knight in shining armour! :smokin:

John Curry – Poetry on ice! :swoon: :swoon:

Scott Hamilton – When Scott first burst onto the scene, he was cute, funny, honest and endearing. You had to have been there (younger generations) to understand. ;) ;) His appeal – enormous!! We all loved Scott, and still do!

(((Sergei Grinkov))) - He was such a kind and gentle person. An incredibly good-looking man.

Sergei Ponomarenko – Made up ½ of one of the sexiest ice dance teams ever!

Evgeni Plushenko – Which is amazing because I usually don’t go for blondes, at all, but Plushy has that certain something. :plush: I had the opportunity to meet Plushy, was introduced @ a comp years ago and have run into him at a few other comps since. He is a very nice and charming guy. A gentleman, actually.

Zhào Hóngbó – He has a way of just looking pretty :smokin: in the kiss and cry.

Dick Button! Of course! :D He was so darn grouchy and ornery that it made him a very sexy beast! :p :EVILLE: He would get a kick out of that, I'm sure! ;)

I do have to throw a coach in there - Rafael Arutyunyan, :drama: makes my heart pitter-patter.

*Crushes, sometimes you can’t explain these things – ya know?!

Thank you, @Mad for Skating for the lighthearted threads that you have started for us. We could always use more of them, as it can get slightly intense on the forum. So, it is nice to step away and have some silly, frivolous fun!

Aw, intensity is what makes skating fun! And trust me honey, I can be as intense as the rest of you when I need to be! #NightmareDressedLikeADaydream
If we're talking "woman crush Wednesday", I should mention Kaitlyn Weaver (fairytale princess), Ksenia Stolbova (girl on fire), and Madison Chock (gorgeous island girl). There are tons of beautiful ladies in the sport but these are the three I would kill to look like :)

Actually, when Ben Agosto grew out his hair, I thought that looked pretty :smokin:! Also, I'd be fooling myself if I didn't put Scott Moir on the crush-worthy list.

I had a crush on Shawn Sawyer and kind of still do. I think he is gay though.

Ah, story of my life! Hey, doesn't mean you can't admire the scenery...I actually think it's easier if your crush is gay because then you're not jealous of another woman and all.

If I grew up during her era, I probably would not have crushed on her, but I would have been totally in love with Peggy Fleming's entire look and packaging, especially her as a pro. I watched some interviews and specials of her during the 1970s and 80s and she may be the most gorgeous skater I've ever saw.

Max Aaron does absolutely nothing for me. His dad, however...:swoon: Also, Rafael Arutunian. Ever since I've had crushes, it's been on older men.
