"No one knows Mirai's mirai" Nagasu cheer thread

It is best if Mirai just focuses on herself. Besides, Janny may be facing Tuk's 3A even before Mirai's 3A.

Personally, I like the possibility of an Olympics in South Korea with a former World Championship with 3A, a 4th place finisher at a previous Olympics with a 3A, and a reigning World Champion.

I hope they all go and skate clean ... And are pretty :D

Mirai shared the 3A clip (same version as seen earlier) after Champs Camp, starting from the beginning of her FS, on her Instagram (ETA: plus another 3A landed in practice): https://www.instagram.com/p/BYJ00qUBnVs/?hl=en&taken-by=mirainagasu

Champs Camp photo team building photo - Mirai's team: https://www.instagram.com/p/BYOtLemnTzG/?hl=en&taken-by=mirainagasu

ETA - I believe Mirai's next public appearance is performing in Kristi Yamaguchi's "Golden Moment" show in San Jose, CA on Sept. 3: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...n-san-jose-ca-sept-3-hawaii-sept-9-10.101164/

Thank you!! This drives me nuts.

I do it all the time! :shuffle: but not anymore. Thank heavens for @giselle23 for the umpteenth time

Nothing will faze the Janny I'm just trying to be nice about it. It gets old when someone wins all the time and someone reminds people all the time that she's going to win (all the time). It doesn't matter what the Janny does though, she'll do her thing and Mirai (and Tuktamysheva) will do hers. :cheer2:

I would tell Mirai, "don't be fazed if the Janny is going through a phase," like some fans entertain that she is. :p

Can we give @mag a break on this one? It happens. I post from an iPhone occasionally and things can get pretty dicey, :2faced: like autocorrect - for example.

Thanks @Weve3. I don't mind the correction. I am one of those who is bothered by the incorrect use of bring and take as well as less and fewer, and I actually didn't know there was a different spelling for faze, so you learn something new everyday.

Back to my original comment, I was thinking about the little one in Brisbane (her name will not come to my brain!) and what the practice sessions must look like at home. It would be awesome to watch them all working away.

I think for Mirai, participating in a show with the great Kristi Y. is a huge plus. Kris is a great mentor and I am glad that skaters are reaching out to her for counsel and guidance, like Karen, for example. Kris always has great advice to share - and I know Mirai looks up to Kristi, so I am happy she is taking part in the show! :)

Went for Triple Axel but fell in this "The Ice" performance. Huge applause and came up smiling. Got a standing O from some people :D

Despite the fall, I am impressed with how straight in the air she got, like Tuktamysheva and Harding.

ETA: 3A was not successful because she did not have enough speed, and was probably too cautious with the entry. I still think the straight air position is impressive.

Yikes........I wish she'd not attempt 3A in Ex. Under show lights. What if she got injured?

This is why Mirai is an elite figure skater and we are not. They are just a different breed. Most have ongoing injuries, most skate with some kind of pain everyday. It isn't about whether or not they are injured or in pain, it is about how well they manage it.

Mirai clearly wants that 3A to be there in competition. They only way that will happen is to put it out there, under pressure, as many times as she can. She hasn't spent the last two years falling hard dozens of times a day to pull back now.

As they say, "Not guts, no glory!"
