Great! Love that from her!
And smart for her to choose a comfortable piece so that she can focus more time on training and jumping.
"Sabre Dance" is probably Petrov's SP?Interview with Mishin

- Petrov ... one of his programs will be to Sabre Dance (choreographed by Misha Ge and Ramil Mehdiyev)
ETA #2 - Artur Dmitriev Sr. has choreographed his son's SP to Scorpions' "Maybe I Maybe You" (Samarin's FS music this past season) and Artur Jr.'s FS is Spanish style ("half-classic, half-modern motifs"), choreographed by Sergei Komolov: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/in...ove-27-summer-2017.101295/page-2#post-5079347I had to reread that part of Mishin's interview few times to understand what he was saying
Liza's FP is to Pyotr Leshchenko's tango (Mishin said that he skated to it at Worlds in 1969)

Ha-ha. Yes I'm a bit surprised by this choice from A/R, it seems rather mainstream compared to their past selections.
i do not complain about 'La La Land' but about the (expected) 'staged' program with all the mimics and poses they most likely will present. How many La La Land programs have been announced so far?
Too bad it's the Olympic season, with A/R in the running for the Russia #3 spot, or we might have had an update on this:

I wasnt wowed by that snippet either but not for that reason. I think Rohene has tons of taste, sophistication and talent but I do think he can be repetive and self-indulgent at times. (I hated a recent EX he did for himself where he was rolling around on the floor and stretching for hours... it felt like.) In this case it looked like he wanted Alex to be a mini-me. But he has done fabulous work for Jason (his muse) and I like his work for Mariah too. Maybe when we see the whole program, that bit for Alex will fall into place.I am loving all of the love Christopher Dean is getting with dancers these days. I like that he's still around creating and i REALLY cannot wait to see what he came up with for Bruno and Aliona.
Regarding Rohene and Alexander Johnson, I'm dismayed by what I've seen. There is a level of taste and sophistication missing in Rohene's work. One plus though is, Alex can handle WHATEVER elaborate step sequences that Rohene throws at him. Tom Dickson's coaching work shows through in him the way it did in Jeremy Abbott, Ryan Jahnke and Matt Savoie.

Yeah, I kind of noticed that while I was writing. I guess I want to say there is a big difference between Rohene the choreographer at his worst and his best, and I prefer to judge him by his best. Even guys who bat .400 strike out a lot.Strange that you disagree with my assertion, however the silly wallowing around program he did for himself that you described proves my point. Still, I'm hoping for the best as well. Alexander is very capable although i wish he would make a quantum leap technically. We shall see however. .
I'm not a huge fan of Rohene's work, but I am waiting to judge the choreography he has done with Alex until I see it a few times. Tom Dickson isn't responsible for the way Jeremy Abbott does anything movement wise, etc. Jeremy is a natural and was moving like that long before Tom showed up to do some choreography, he also grew up idolizing Robin Cousins and Kurt Browning, and it definitely shows.I am loving all of the love Christopher Dean is getting with dancers these days. I thinks that those are good choices for them. Probably some people won't like that it's "slow" music again (as there are people for whom all slow music is apparently the same), but I personally really liked their first ('I Put a Spell On You') FD and have always thought that they should do another bluesy FD, especially now that they are better skaters. Their Midnight blues sequence from the last season's SD only reinforced that thought.Hubbell/Donohue released their FD for the Olympic year...

I think you need to try again. Yes, Tom may have had a small influence at some point, but he was a natural from the start and his most brilliant work on the ice wasn't with Tom.I think you need to go do your homework. You're incorrect about Tom's influence on Jeremy.
