"The Walking Dead": Any fans here?

I didn't get to watch Sunday, and I'm thinking I'll just skip this episode. I don't need the trauma at this particular time.

Not necessarily. We saw in a few episodes in earlier scenes where people covered themselves with blood and guts so that the zombies would not think they were a munchies. My guess is that once the bloods and guts of Nicholas started spurting everywhere, Glenn started smoothing himself with said blood and guts. It's not like there's anything else he could do at that point, so he might as well. This is what I'm hoping, because I felt kinda sick thinking Glenn was gone... :(

Except Nicolas is not a zombie yet, so his blood and guts will smell human and attract zombies. Are there actual zombie blood and guts within reach?

I don't think Glenn is dead, though I don't know how he could live through falling to the ground under Nicolas, if that is what happened, not a fantasy. I am braced for the worst, even though I'm gutted at the thought he is gone. But there was something surreal about the scene - the amount of blood was way excessive - that gives me pause. Then the fact that he missing from the Memorial.

Other than Glenn's "death" the episode was kind of a mess. Daryl drove his motorcycle around and looked cool (I'm not complaining), Sasha and Abraham drove slowly in their car, some bimbo sprained her ankle, lots of people were eaten by zombies who somehow managed to sneak up on them and Glenn and Michonne did very stupid things.

I couldn't understand why they didn't just stay in the pet store. The herd was attracted by noise caused by the 2 walkers in the compartment. Once they were killed, the noise would stop. The herd was bound to move on soon.

While I enjoyed the back story about Morgan and thought the two actors did an excellent job keeping my attention the whole 90 minutes, I look forward to getting back to the action at Alexandria next week.

I was all DON'T LET TABITHA DIE even though I knew she was gonna die, but still.

Tabitha is a better actress than 90% of the actors on Fear the Walking Dead. :P

I didn't necessarily mind the episode, I just think the timing is bad. Maybe it should've been the second one, so we would understand what's happening with Morgan not killing the Wolves in that one. I dunno.

I enjoyed the episode too. I like back stories (Wish we got more of a Michonne back story like this one).

But a lot of my friends were annoyed by the episode. They wanted Glenn !!!

Anyone else notice that in the opening credits, Steve Yeun's name did not appear?

Impatiently waiting until episode 7. :(

And poor Tabitha! Also, I'm noticing a trend that, however inadvertently, Morgan causes a number of avoidable deaths.

The same thing happened when Rick didn't kill the Governor the first chance he had at the barn meeting.

Andrea, Merle, Hershel and Milton(and the Woodbury leftovers) were all killed by him.

I really enjoyed this episode. How patient is Lennie James (who plays Morgan) to be in one episode of season one and then basically wait five years until his character is part of the show once again?? :40beers:

My favourite moments of episode four:

1. Fire zombie! Just when you think The Walking Dead people can't come up with anything new, they have a zombie walk through a fire...and catch on fire!

2. Morgan's spike village. Smart thinking, but did wonder why he didn't just find a house to live in. But he was in the middle of his crazy time, so at least he wasn't so crazy that he couldn't protect himself with the long tree spike things.

3. Somebody smart! Loved everything about Eastman, especially when Morgan said something about how he has to kill everything and Eastman responded, "what a load of horseshit"! :respec:

Speaking of Eastman...

I was all DON'T LET TABITHA DIE even though I knew she was gonna die, but still.

And poor Tabitha!

COME ON YOU GUYS! A beautiful and intelligent soul dies after protecting Morgan, who he brought back from an unbelievably horrid state...and some goat is who you mourn?? Do you have W's on your foreheads or something?? :p

Although it was a well-acted and strong episode, I too think the timing was off. I really wanted last week's storylines resolved and that prevented me from fully enjoying the episode. As a result I found myself wanting it to end. Even though I was prepared, as the previews hinted at an episode that was entirely focused on Morgan.

Making the audience wait is not always the best strategy, as the audience just might not resume watching.

For the whole hour and a half I kept wanting the episode to end - first time that's happened to me on TWD.

Loved Tabitha. I really wish they might not have a zombie kill an animal on TWD for once.

Actually, do the animals not turn zombie? I wondered if they ever mentioned that.

I have read that his name being removed may have been the Walking Dead producers way of messing with fans. Emily Kinney's name stayed in the opening credits for the rest of last season even though her character died before the season ended. I believe Scott Wilson's name did as well (would have to go back and look though). From the Spoiling Dead website, the actor who plays Glenn has been spotted shooting scenes with characters yet to be introduced. But this is all speculation. Guess we will see in a few weeks.

Same. This cliffhanger is way too early (and too big). I think it's because Morgan's episode is narrative and rather random, and they have a hard time placing it - and the best place is right after a cliffhanger to ensure maximum rating. Unfortunately this makes me hate Morgan even more. As a TWD fan who cares about Rick and Glenn, to see a whole episode go by without any mention of them when they left us seeing them in grave danger the episode before - AND also to see his craziness and recklessness (causing the guys and the goat's death #letitgoat) in this and the intrusion episode - is such a turn off. I guess it gives us perspective as to why he is reluctant to kill, but he is still such a costly character for Alexandria.

I actually think this episode would be better placed right after the Wolves intrusion episode, right after the scene where Carol and Morgan part ways at the intersection.

Did anybody else find it strange that the two men in the beginning of the episode crept up on Morgan? If somebody did that to me in a zombie apocalypse, I would assume they were foes sneaking up to steal whatever belongings I have. Just seems like a way to get yourself killed. Which it did...

Morgan's craziness is getting everyone killed.

Also, I'm noticing a trend that, however inadvertently, Morgan causes a number of avoidable deaths.

Isn't this true for everybody, though? Everyone has made mistakes and people ended up dead because of it.

I don't see Rick as responsible for these deaths. Pretty much everybody had a chance to take out The Govenor at one time or another. But everybody always let Rick be responsible for...pretty much everything. In our post-apocalyptic FSU zombie world, I'm going to check in with everybody and see who wants to be responsible for what. Share the responsibilities. It wouldn't be fair to make @PrincessLeppard our Rick and be responsible for everything. :)

PrincessLeppard can be Beth !!! and sing for everyone. :EVILLE:

I'd want to be the horse Rick rode into Atlanta during the first season. Even though I'd end up zombie chow. :grope:

I'd want to be Glenn just so I could be with Maggie :swoon:

Yes, but it is so late for learning. And everyone (including us) has been through that already.

When Rick and gang were reluctant to take down Governor, it's early in the series and viewers were learning with them how to remain humane (or not). They had been struggling not to kill humans up to that point. Some failed and died, like Andrea. Some learned and lived, like Rick. That was a couple of seasons ago.

So when Father Gabriel and Morgan (this time) appeared, they might be fresh characters in the series, but it's so tiresome watching them learning what the group learned over the past 5 seasons. Especially for Morgan - it's frustrating to see him change from full on defensive/ kill mode to humane mode and then causing troubles.

P.S. don't forget we have also just endured Travis from Fear The Walking Dead.

If I'm in charge, Daryl is my second in command and also :grope:. we will also put up walls that are secure, grow food and no one is allowed to sing.

And if one of those morons from FTWD shows up, they get tossed in the quarry. Immediately. Except Tobias. He can stay. We will get him some clearisil.
