No one came in and posted his programs to game music? He has good taste in JRPGs.

Just returned from Japan and haven't got the time for posting anything yet. :slinkaway

I have a really great time this time! I enjoyed Echoes of Life and hope to be back to watch it again. :biggrinbo

Really love the Utai IV Reawakening program and Mass Destruction:

I also found the classical music medley and Ballade no 1 progression to be nerve wrecking:

Love the Eclipse/blue and Stteiner's Gate Aesthetics on Ice as well, but it seems there is no video of the Eclipse/blue part available yet.

I don't know how Yuzu does it, but his ice show production keeps getting better and better. I initially thought it will be hard to top RE_PRAY, but I was wrong.

Yuzu recently got interviewed by KHB. Here's some snippets of his cute interaction with Guriri, the mascot.

Upcoming interview with TV Asahi on 26/1:

Echoes of Life Hiroshima (5/1) got live streamed in Shanghai too. Here's the TV report from the event. The venue is so cool.

The guest star for Notte Stellata 2025 is Mansai Nomura! :cheer2:

30 minutes with Yuzuru Hanyu by By Mai Yoshikawa (Jan. 11, 2025):
It's a lovely interview. There's one photo where I suddenly thought Oh! He's a man! Mostly I think of him as some other-worldly sprite or elf - passionate and talented, but not quite of the same world as the rest of us.

“Critics might agree that I’m making good art in the figure skating genre, but I want to impress people who are familiar with other forms of art like music, opera, dance and drama. In order to do that, I have to improve my aesthetic sense by understanding and appreciating art.”

Hey good for him! He knows that what passes for art in skating isn't really art. I support him trying to improve on that.

I appreciate the attempt, and I'm happy at him saying he doesn't watch competitions. Because, you know, there's no real point in that, and he's right that it's very rigid in terms of what it demands, and what it leaves open to possibility.

I'm going to be honest with you though, I just don't know if the ice is the most interesting visual medium. There are some things he does that can only happen on the ice, and he does them fantastically. There's a wonderful spin in the middle of that video, and there's that slide he does. But I just don't know that if someone wants to seriously pursue the arts, then I'd tell them that they should try their hand at figure skating, even recreationally. You want to vary your glide, well you need to position your body a certain way and engage certain muscles. You want to vary your speed, same. That limits everything quite a bit, because ultimately just standing there doing dance moves is not impressive skating-wise.

Still, if he wants, he can do it. He has the right idea of it, that's what's impressive to me, and maybe my mind will change on figure skating as an art form because of something he does one day.

Since you're being honest with me, I'll also be honest with you. What I like from this program is not the skating. I like the "message" on it (and the way he deliver it). I understand your points, though. When he first did Ashura-Chan he was criticized by some because they don't think it is a skating program.

If he abandons the ice completely it could save lots of money on the production cost. I don't think he'll do it though, at least for now.:slinkaway

Oh, mine is not really directed at him, as such, it's more just me not thinking an ice rink can really do what someone wants artistically. So it's more criticizing figure skating as an art form.

I'm sure as he puts more and more effort over time, it will look closer to what he wants it to look as, and closer to other art forms. That's okay, art is a lifelong process.

I'd watched Ashura-Chan  It's very early stage, I would say. The recent link you gave me is much better. Some times you make a fool out of yourself, it is what it is

I understand that. It is just that I don't think Yuzu will abandon skating to pursue such ideals since he has skated almost his whole life.

Ashura-Chan is a great program for fan service though. ;)

Do you happen to have a link to any Mass Destruction video? I thought this where the visuals are just stunning.

Yuzu’s vision and production values are so at higher than anything else that we’ve seen. Just amazing! I never thought I could see something that was this high level.

Some fans are worried he won't get profit from his Ice Stories thus they are buying more merchandise to help with the production cost. :ROFLMAO:

I haven't posted about this yet.

The final (non encore) program in the show uses The Poem of Every Human's Soul. In the program, Yuzu interacted with all the doors, and he did one specific choreography from a program before entering the door.

This fan made an edit to highlight the choreography.

I'll show you the animation part. There's a segment in Echoes called as Aerith's Church (Final Fantasy VII) scene.

My only "criticism" for the velvet room skate is that he should dress up as Elizabeth  go full waifu

The Aerith is neat! Good for him for living every gamer geek's fantasy

Yuzu is living every gamer’s geek fantasy, other gamer geeks are happy Yuzu uses Persona and Steiner’s Gate, and Fanyus have to catch up to this new knowledge by discussing the games with their geek husband/son/daughter.
