When you were underscored but still managed to set a new world record

Such joy today, seeing him finally win the second World title! A performance for the ages, and I just feel so happy for him. He gave everything today, it was a beautiful thing to see.

At times his abilities seem almost superhuman. ;):):cheer2:

Still waiting for telecast here in Chicago! Show about to begin in 20 min.! Heard the result and "wish" him well and congrats! I thought our own Chen might be more of a challenge, but it was obvious, other skaters performed a lot better throughout! Hanyu overcame his deficit while Nathan must not have been able to get on track! Oh well, I'll see them both in an hour or so! Another season comes to a close! Is it going to be a crazy 2017-18 awaiting the Olympics? Will Plushenko have to come to the rescue yet again? :saint: :encore:

Fayruza just translated part of an interview with Stephan Lambiel

The technique is the most crucial factor now, along with athleticism and stamina - you can't jump quads without them. But the emotional factor and the artistic is just as important - you have to live through every single moment of your program, to feel it. And you have to combine it with executing a whole array of most difficult elements. It's hard work which only a few elect can do - that's why the leading group isn't so big. Only a very talented skater who was lucky to be born hard-working as well can cope with it.

And who do you think combines it best of all.
The result shows it's Yuzuru. He put up a whole theatrical performance on the ice both in his short and in his long programmes. He's such a talent in many aspect, he's a natural: he's incredibly musical, you can't teach that. He steps onto the ice, you look at him and forget about everything - about time, people around you, who's been performing before. It's incredible.

They even know Yuzuru's a fan of Pooh:
---
Two days after Hanyu's gold-medal prospects appeared to be in jeopardy, when a landing on bended knee from his quad Salchow left him trailing in fifth place, the Winnie-the-Pooh fan had his coach Brian Orser banging the side hoardings in celebration as he racked up a world-record 223.20 points for the free skate.

My admiration for Yuzu as a skater is increased by the fact that he is a true sportsman. During the Gala today he drew Misha Ge out for a solo bow in recognition that this was his last skate. So thoughtful.
He also did that to Cathy Reed when she retired at WTT 2015. Yuzuru is childlike and seems like carefree but he is a very thoughtful person.
Hopefully Misha Ge will have a brilliant career as a choreographer and a performer.
