Yes Yuzuru Hanyu did well the SP but we should not forget the final battle tomorrow. I know he wants to skate well. I know he can do it.
He appreciates his fans and the support people keep sending him. I don't care about the medal. I just want to see him skating beautifully for himself foremost, to feel that he can truly love the Olympics as it is, not the huge attention, crazy expectation, and pressure. He loves skating and showing his love for skating to the world. And I am sure the whole world also deserve to witness such beautiful, powerful and perfect moments from Seimei that Yuzuru Hanyu himself is totally capable of.
Let's forget all the negative thoughts, don't repeat yourself about what happened in the past, let's believe in Yuzuru Hanyu himself. Let's all believe that he can pull through the final trial.
He is a beautiful skater and a beautiful person especially his mind. We should be grateful for whatever he has shown us today. And wishes him the best for tomorrow.

Yuzuru just seems so relaxed and at peace since he’s arrived at these Olympics. It’s almost like he’s not competing with anyone for a gold at all but just for himself, for the sake of showing his best skating. And of course his best skating is always gold medal worthy. That SP was sublime.

As a long time skating fan, I only wish to see Yuzuru being happy with his performance. After so many injuries and struggles, he deserves to feel happy just to skate on the ice, not to fulfill the expectation from fans and everyone in his country. I have never seen anyone going into any competition with so much pressure like Yuzuru.

After everything Yuzuru has come through, he deserves to have a fun Olympics because that's what all Olympian should have, not being attacked by the medal pressure.

Yuzuru only needs to skate happily on the ice and his fans will all be happy for him. I will focus on the positive thoughts when I think of Yuzuru’s free skate tomorrow.

I couldn’t believe how serene Yuzuru looked last night. Sometimes he is very intense when he competes. But last night, he just looked so calm, and the performance seemed to happen almost without effort. So happy for him & hope the free skate is similar!! :):)

Yes. I think he is truly happy to be able to come back. It's so heartbreaking to know that he only started jumping 3 weeks ago. Now the free skate is the real trial for his stamina. I hope he will finally make it through.

Translation of his interview after the short program, he brings Pooh along with him and let Pooh stay at the hotel. So cute.

I had to rewatch Hanyu's SP first thing this morning. :D

He has such serenity - his energy just seems to be connected to a different wave length. But despite the calm he is just such a fierce competitor. He is truly otherworldly.

Oh - I asked this last night in the PBP thread but I don't think anyone answered. Who is the other male coach who is with Orser? I don't recall seeing him before.
