HecVal - 2tw good; SBS 2a nice; first lift - nice & steady; SBS 2f+2t+1a nice; throw 2s bit on the small side; second lift - also nice & steady; throw 2lo another one on the small side; BODS L1 okay; choreo seq eh; combo spin - decent. They're rather slow, careful, but almost everything was quality & they didn't try to do more than they were capable of. They have a ton of potential.

You need to rest up for Worlds.
You are right about that. BUT .... my son and his family are coming from Ontario to visit us for March Breatk, so I have to crank it into gear this coming week and cook some food ahead (to freeze) so I won't be stuck in the kitchen all the time they are here. We've got some fun things planned (including a big family dinner prepared by me ... have no idea where I'm going to seat 14-15 people inside the house for that ,,,, usually it's a barbeque in the summer with some people outside on the deck). So, I'll be busy. Looking forward to it all.

YudinRL - 2tw nice & high; SBS 3t - he fell; first lift - solid; throw 3s - very low landing for her but she stayed up; BODS L2 fine; SBS 2a+rep - she spun out of the 2a, so no combo; second lift okay; throw 2f okay; choreo seq - throwaway; combo spin meh. They're not bad and may have some potential. Need more time to cook.

NapoComi - why don't I remember these costumes from their JGP appearances? They're very pretty. 2tw - very nice; SBS 3s - gorgeous (Ghilardi could never); first lift - good air position for her, slow across the ice for him; throw 3s decent; SBS 3t+3t+2t ; only a base level on the BODS - how about doing a different one, kids; throw 2lo good; second lift - bit slow, clunky exit; combo spin - not bad.

Wow. This team has so much potential when they get it right.

The Italians off to a very nice start, with a level 4 on their 2tw, and lovely sbs 3s. I appreciate that they're going for quality on their twist, instead of rushing to get the triple before they're ready.
I kind of think limiting the twist to a double for juniors might reduce the event’s scariness factor.

Irina and Edoardo should be very pleased with that performance. Oh, I know things are under review but it was still redemption for them after a subpar SP. Those sbs 3sals were in perfect unison .... better than lots of seniors. So, yeah .... good for them.

EhrPel - 3tw eh; SBS 2a - far apart but landed; throw 3s - she popped it into a 2s; first lift - good; throw 2lo - lots of air & distance; second lift - also quite nice; SBS 2s+rep - she fell so no combo; BODS L4 - nice; choreo seq fine; combo spin - alright. Well, that wasn't a disaster. They have improved since I first saw them a couple seasons ago.

Wow ... those tes were a tie with the leaders. Did well on the 3 twist. His feet looked squeaky clean to me on those lifts. Kudos on the level 4 on the BODS. We're getting some great skating from these early pairs.

PolRen - 3tw okay; SBS 3s+1a+1a didn't even try to synch the jumps AT ALL; SBS 2a - she fell; throw 3lo - hand down & small; what's a day of a skating comp without the requisite POTC program? BODS base level - yeahhhh; first lift - felt labored but done; choreo seq - slooooow; throw 3s - done but small; second lift - she has nice air position, he's slow under her; combo spin - meh. That was an underwhelming program and lame. PavSvia are more piratey than this team.

Argh .... not the best day for Polina and Gabriel. If only all the elements could have been nice as the throw 3sal. Closing spin was pretty slow. Oh well, I still like them and think they've got tons of potential for the future.
