Not at all worried about her qualifying for the FS looking at some of the skaters left to skate. I sincerely doubt that Shakrova, Ruiz Manzano, or Jamoliddinova will come anywhere close to 47 in the SP.

Those things hanging on Ting's arms needs to go. You would tell she was very uncomfortable with them before the program started. Disappointing skate obviously but glad it was here and not (hopefully) at Nationals.

Shaline RUEGGER is competing in her final figure skating competition here; she will compete in short track here next week!

Ruegger was very happy with her SP (3T+2T, 3S & 2A) - 51.73 in 13th (eta: 14th after Kiibus) - and will get to skate her FS tomorrow.

Eva-Lotta Kiibus 3T+2T, 2A, ‘tano 3Lz step out -1.53 GOE) - still doesn’t quite seem have her mojo back but hopefully she’s on a better path now? 55.12 9th.

Who is the announcer on ESPN+?

She's good!

I like how she finds unusual and beautiful things to single out and praise in a skater's performance - a well choreographed step sequence, a skater's intensity, the position in a spin. She never dwells on the obvious - a fall or a clearly landed jump - the stuff that even a non-fan could see.

Sometimes she goes quiet, maybe she's jus thinking or appreciating. Which would make a network TV producer go crazy. They want commentators to talk talk talk through the whole thing.

That's one of those situations that has to hurt a lot. Missing the FS by .02

I think I would rather fail by a lot more than that margin if I was the one that couldn't move on in the competition.
