I was a big Henrietta Onodi fan, and was of course screaming wuzrobbed back in 1992 OG when she was second in the FX final. (I could live it through only because she already won gold on vault). Watching it again now, Milosovic’ tumbling was indeed impressive, everything she did was looked so easy, but the dancing was not my thing. Typical Romanian mash up music of keyboard classicals thrown together to make no sense. I loved Onodi’s variation in tempo and emotion. And her form was very good. Would she have gotten FX gold if she was from a “bigger” country? Or the judges thought: “One gold for Hungary will do”? I’m not all that into the tech part, so...

Love all these old gym threads?

I love and hare how smartly Milosoveci choreographed that hop after her tucked full-in to punch front. She when she didn’t fully control the landing, it wouldn’t matter because the judges knew a good was intentionally choreographed there so it wouldn’t be seen as a mistake. Wasn’t Milosoveci also like the second person in the starting order to compete at FX finals and got a 10.0? That must have been great for the gymnasts following her,.

I definitely had Onodi first. Milo was a fantastic tumbler but her dance left a lot to be desired. I also had Onodi first (by herself) in the vault event finals.

There were so many ties back then that I don’t blame the IOC for passing that no ties in judged sports rule even if the FIG came up with some wacky tie breaker procedures. I still think they played tic-tac-toe for the 2008 bars event finals.
