Im slihgtly bored tonight (but fully tipsy) tee-hee

Which ladies (choose 3) do you think had the most SPRING in their jumps? I find height exciting. Im NOT talking best jumper... Im talking spring in their jumps. If I only meant jumping there would be a whole bunch of other skaters from Daleman to Lipinski to Yamaguchi to Kwan to Asada to Onda to Ando on this poll.

I love when Uncle Dick would say "Look at the spring in that jump." And going form that these following 10 ladies are FOR ME who I most remember with spring. (And yes I know Im sure I missed some...) but going from this list choose 3 please :)

Please forgive typos I hit the wine tonight.

Agnes Zawadski and Julia Sebestyen probably had the most impressive spring to their jumps because that spring wasn't aided by speed into the jumps in their cases.

The answer is Krisztina Czako, on every jump!

She got the height and then rotated, often resulting in wobbly landings, but exciting to watch.
Tonya Harding wins this award too.

though sometimes the lutz had a little pull to the landing. I'm one of the few that believes Tonya actually landed a quad loop while filming a Texaco commercial. That jump was massive.

Other skaters had 1 or 2 jumps that could fly: Gold's lutz, Szewczenko's lutz and triple toe that could have been a quad, Sebestyen's lutz and flip, Lavrenchuck's lutz, Gusmeroli's lutz, Bobek's flutz and double axel. Perhaps Kopac's loop.

mention to :
Anna Rechnio circa 1998-1999.

Tonya Harding has my favorite Triple Lutz ever. Yu Na Kim probably has my favorite Triple Lutz/Triple Toe combo. Of the current crop, I think Daleman and Osmond have my favorite spring and look to their jumps though I know Osmond has flutz issues.

There's some really good skaters being mentioned.

I purposely left Daleman off because she covers massive distance...not a springer IMO.

I always reference Uncle Dick...he would say the jump first goes up in the air, and then rotates. Not Daleman's case if you ask me. Having said that she is one of my all time fav jumpers.

Nice to see all 10 in this poll get a touch of love.

Krisztina Czako’s height in her 3T3T was insane.

Oh I love the Czako memories. She was arresting---she needed polish but she absolutely commanded one's attention when she skated. I hope she is happy and healthy and has the life she desired.

So remember the Goodwill Games? (Well it was a nice idea) So sometime late 80's or early 90's I remember Surya Bonaly trying to land quad after quad. She was not successful but at times she looked spring-loaded to me.

Another skater was Dorothy Hamill---I know, I know---her doubles are not quads. But at times it looked like she could float in the air for ages before finishing the rotation. She had so much lift. Kaetlyn reminds me very much of Dorothy, the beautiful jumps, straight back, glorious edges. There is pleasure in seeing something done with technical expertise.

But in the end my vote goes to Ito. For me her triple axle was a "you have to see it to believe it." Though I was happy for Yamaguchi I hated seeing her falter when she was under such incredible pressure. It is better if you are not the favorite at the Olympics. Que the late, great Mr. Bowie and our beloved Freddie: "Pressure...pushing down on me..."

Courtney Hicks could have been on this list. She gets really nice height on her jumps.

Do you think so?

They are so lopsided/unbalanced/whatever-you-want-to-call-it that its hard to tell if there is any spring.

I never thought of her as someone who goes up first and then rotates.. I think of her as frantic, skating faster than she can handle kind of jumper.
