I've had a company phone for 20 years so I'm out of touch with phone services, but do plans still have data limits?
Some do, some don't. I used to always get unlimited plans when my kids were on the plan but now that they are out of the house we have plans with a very small limit since the two of us are almost always on wifi.

Now for the really important info.
Restaurants I have personally tried and can confirm they are very good.

Siena Tuscan Italian (inside the Ambassador Hotel)
The Kitchen. (Nice diverse menu)
Bite me BBQ. (Huge delicious BBQ sandwich enough for a midnight snack and don’t overlook the warm peach cobbler and ice cream🥰)

I am going to try the kitchen today. I saw them on the local news talking about the event and the owner seemed very nice.

The hot turkey sandwich at Solly and Jude’s was really good. All sandwiches come with coleslaw and a chocolate chip cookie. It’s a sit down place but they were very quick.
I’m enjoying their traditional corned beef sandwich right now! :) https://www.sollyandjudes.com/

Solly and Jude’s is across the street from the Arena box office and I was told to spread the word that it is open until 6 pm today & tomorrow & until 8 pm on Friday & Saturday. :)

I’m over at Tor Brewery before Jr. Pairs. Had planned to get a burger but this week’s special is Moroccan tomato soup and grilled cheese. They gave me a side of cheese for my grilled cheese. Pretty good and I’m the only one in here so got it quick.

I am told the Hilton Garden Inn is extending the hours of the bar and the restaurant in light of the late ending times of the Nationals competitive sessions. I don't know what the new hours are; I think they're posted.

Yes the new hours are posted on the doors. Monday night every table was taken. So glad that someone looked at the schedule!

I seriously thought about seeing if there were any seats left/hotels/airBnBs as we have the whole week off. But it was not the price that determined that I could not in fact go but that there's no way to get to New Orleans as all the bridges are closed and I'd be terrified to drive even if they were open

Bite me Bbq was good. It was nice seeing the junior silver medalist chowing down probably with who I assume is his mom. 🤠

Can you get to Mobile or Jackson?

Ed - I'm scared to drive over a lot of the New Orleans bridges in perfect weather!

I had to get out a day earlier than I planned because I knew I’d never get here if I waited for them to get the roads in order!

Are all these restaurants just north of the arena?

I'm staying at the Fairfield which is just south and am a little surprised at the complete lack of services and shops. Nothing between here and the arena except McDonald's and an odd coffee place.

Yeah most of the restaurants are near the arena and the Old Towne area. I'm at the Fairfield as well and there's also a Subway two blocks from us (on the same street as McD's) and the Doo Dah Diner, which my first Lyft driver recommended for breakfast/lunch.

If you need some snacks you might try this. I think it is too chilly to walk. This may be a little too far on St. Francis so if you have wheels:

The only gas station in the area had multiple people just sleeping out front so I assume that is why there aren’t more in this area. I read multiple review of places that closed in the area because of homeless coming in a wreaking places. Gas station was packed with chips and candy but no odds and ends like chapstick or lotion. No drugs stores either just for day to day things or snacks. Not the best location without a car. I went to the mall to the east and there is stuff all over the place but that is a 10m drive.

My hotel is quite a bit away so I am not sure how I'll get there except Ubering. I did rent a car but don't wanna park at the arena. (Home2Suites)

Three words I thought I would never say. “I miss Rusty”. Those two women doing the in arena announcing are making my head split in two when they talk. Be careful what you wish for.
I Quit complaining about Rusty after I went to US gymnastics Olympics trials a few years ago. Maybe that’s who US figure skating has hired because she was absolutely horrid

Rusty at least has a voice that’s not grating and it’s not really his fault that US figure skating thinks stupid human tricks are entertaining
