Tiger Woods arrested for DUI

The eyes in the mug shot scream opiates. In line with his statement about prescription meds. Very sad. Don't get me started ranting on these medications.

Yes, it was dumb, but we don't know if it was a stupid mistake or a case of over-medicating on purpose. I've seen what happens to people who take the prescribed dose, forget they took it, then take another. Or to people who take the prescribed dose on an empty stomach or when they're dehydrated. Or to people who are taking the prescribed dose then do strenuous exercise. Those drugs are powerful suckers and can turn anyone into a walking zombie.

Whether on purpose or not...he was still driving while under the influence. It is not like he did t have $5 to call a cab.

I doubt he had the capability to do any task involving thinking. That's what's so dangerous about those types of drugs. At one point, you have full awareness. 1mg later, you don't know where you are. From the tape, it seemed more like zombie driving which is a known side effect of several pain killer/muscle relaxer types of drugs.

The title of this thread is misleading. Although he failed the sobriety test on the road, they found 0.0 percent alcohol in his system. I believe it was the effect of medication, which still fits the definition of DUI, but typically we think of DUI and drunk driving.

Tiger clearly has problems. If I am taking a medicine, I make sure that it's not going to interfere with my driving ability. He should know that. I hope he can sort through his problems and can finish his career on a respectable note.

Tiger Wood's Statement

No alcohol but a reaction to the prescription drugs he was taking

Does the fact that there was no alcohol involved make it better? He was clearly impaired (I watched the video). He could barely walk.....how in the world did he think he could drive?

I think Mr. Woods passed all hope of ending on a respectable note at this point.

Then perhaps this will help diminish the automatic assumption of some that DUI necessarily means alcohol is involved, which DWI (driving while intoxicated) refers to.

Of course not, and I totally did not mean that it does. I was just updating the original post that assumed ETOH.
