Eddie's probably the best all-around musician/producer in multiple genres.
Eric the best of the bunch to tell a story with just a guitar
Carlos the most emotive of the group
Jimi had the most raw talent, but left too soon
I am not a big GNR fan, but Slash is an amazing technician with a guitar.

I'm going to give it to Slash. I think he wins it by a hair, mostly because he was able to study all the others, and had the drive to put it together. This answer surprises the hell out of me.

BTW, Steve Cropper, from the Stax house band, Booker T and the MG's, and The Blues Brothers Band, probably blows all of the others away.
