This or That - Round 42

Chick Fil A

It has been assumed for decades that a nuclear war is unwinnable on the basis that the only realistic outcome would be mutually assured destruction. However, do the United States and Western Europe need to catch up fast in the new arms race for hypersonic missiles to ensure that that remains the case, and to avoid a situation in which they are vulnerable to losing a nuclear war as a result of high speed surprise attack to which they have no defence - Yes or No?

Rika Khira - Bradie is horrifically packaged, IMHO.

Yes - probably. I was surprised that Kamala Harris has pulled out this early. I am backing Pete Buttigieg though - a good sensible moderate who is really building some momentum behind his campaign

NATO only works if it’s members are truly committed to it. If they are not, then it should disband and each country should then take care of its own defences. Moreover, I think the UK would be better off outside of NATO, just as it will be better off outside the EU. 10 years outside of both and the UK will have a far stronger economy, and will be able to take care of its own defences. Even after 50 years of EU subjugation, the UK still has an economy that is almost 3 times as large as the country that presents the greatest threat to its security. And the plain fact of the matter is, if you can afford to outspend the enemy, then you will win. It would simply take sustained spending of around 7.5% of GDP per annum over a decade to get the UK armed forces back to where they should be.

Will the European Union have collapsed within 20 years - Yes or No?

1) It depends on the property and the $
2) I have the EU needs to reform to survive. I think the bureaucracy is too much and countries are going to want more control for themselves.
