PROBABLY NOT - But I don't care about trade deficits because they really don't matter. Do you want me to get into another rant about how I feel about people who complain about trade deficits!

That aside - IMHO, the most important things about a country's economy are that: 1) the people and firms have the freedom to buy and sell what they want, 2) the country is focusing on sectors that they have competitive advantages in, and 3) the overall economy is growing. The United States is a leader in all three of these things. China, not so much - especially in #1.

Not for a topic that will cheer us all up!
